Does anyone here use fuel system additives? Trucks! TV show seems to love Z-Tech...

    Well most additives are junk.

Some are worth the money though, like fuel stabilizer for the winter if something will sit for a long time (lawnmower).

SOME things are not a bad thing to use, like about once a year I will run some Seafoam cleaner through the tank. Does it make a difference, probably not but I figure it's worth the cost of it for the spring tune-up to help keep things clean.

MOST octane boosters won't do much, but even more so is that 99% of the people use them for the wrong reasons thinking they'll get more power 'right out of the can'.

So unless you have a specific reason, like maybe your injectors are getting clogged then injector cleaner would be worth a try, otherwise not really worth it IMHO.

I use the startron treatment in all my equipment and sometimes I fire a bottle through the Tacoma. I had three carberators on my climbing saws gunk up in a week, haven't had any problems since this was recommended to me. It's around $10 a bottle, but cheaper in the long run than not using it.

"Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment uses unique enzyme technology to improve overall fuel quality. Star Tron Gasoline Formula makes engines start easily and run smooth. It “cures & prevents” Ethanol fuel problems such as water in fuel, or lost power. It also helps prevent phase separation, removes gums, varnish and carbon deposits and will stabilize gasoline for up to 1 year. It works in boats, cars, motorcycles, small equipment or any other 2 or 4-cycle engine./"

I use Seafoam, had a generator that was all gummed up put some in the tank and ran for 30 Min. with great results. The neighbor had his gen running which was painful to hear went over with Seaform, he was going to replace it. Poured seaform in the tank and within 1 hour his gen. was running like new again. We both used our generators for the two power outage this summer and the fall. Great stuff and yes I put it in my truck.

Otherwise, I use the additives here and there. More for that feel good feeling that I'm doing everything I can to protect my truck. I know that most of them don't do anything.

I usually notice about a 1-2 mpg increase with Lucas Oil top end lube and injector cleaner over not using it, it's only about $3 a bottle so I just pick one up at the station and pour it in.

Lucas Fuel Treatment here. Bought a small bottle (the one that treats 25 gallons) and refill it with the next bottle size up.

Also, I only use Top Tier gasolines.

Sea Foam!! Great at cleaning the top end, great at pulling moisture out of your gas lines.

I'm using Tectron for now because that's what I've been using in my bike for years. Was wondering if I should ugrade to the "hi tech" additives that I've seen on TV.

just posted on this: put seafoam into a car that was running like crap. either it cleaned the screen in the fuel tank, or it picked up a lot of water in the tank, but whatever it did, it sure made a big difference after adding it.
    made me a believer!

Depends on what you want to do. If it's just for the fuel tank and injectors, then imho, Techron or Seafoam has worked best for me.

That being said, I use only Seafoam anymore since I use it in the Tacoma every once in a while and I also use it in my generator and motorcycle since it not only cleans the jets in these but it is a fuel stabilizer. It just works great as an overall fuel additive.

Ive used Amsoil PI a few times, noticed an improvement in throttle response, and definitely have seen improvements in mileage.

Seafoam is amazing stuff as well.

Anybody ever hear or try greenfuelhawaii.mysyntek.com fuel additives. My cousin called me and was trying to pitch it to me, not so much on hp but more towards mpg since hes a truck driver. Just kinda curios because he was telling me the shit is like $1300 bucks a gallon or something.
