Anyone else having issues with the fuel door scraping on the inner part by the cap? It's pretty bad and I'd like to fix it before it gets worse. Just not sure how to fix it.

Yep, I just repaired mine. Takes about 5 minutes. I used a small plastic panel pry tool to force the lip of the gas door back ever so slightly until I had clearance. Here is a similar tool being sold on Amazon.

In the picture, I used the second one in from the left. I was careful with my tool placement and gentle with the force I used to minimize any chance of bending something I didn't want bent. I still need to get in there and repair the scuff marks but it is opening a whole lot easier as well.

Mine was rubbing at the bottom of the door so I just raised it up by hand by picking up on the door a bit. The hinge bent. Still opens and closes fine with no flop.

make sure to keep the fuel door's hinges greased...they freeze up easily and then bend

Thanks for the advice! I ordered the pry tools and will fix tomorrow. Will be sure to oil the hinges regularly now too. I never even thought to do that before!

Ok I fixed the rubbing fuel door yesterday and sprayed with Liquid Wrench to get the hinge moving again. There were 2 spots where it was rubbing. The first was the actual hinge hitting the support bracket and sort of popping in and out. Then the back side of the fuel door was rubbing on the inside of the housing when I tried to open it further.

Now that it's bent back enough to get clearance, it just barely clears both spots and seems like it's only going to be a temporary fix. May need to get a new door assembly in the future. I'm just not sure how to install it because the original one's riveted in there!

This isn't the same issue, I don't think, but related. In the last week or so, mines been popping out, not alot, just randomly to where its not flush. I tap it, it 'pops' back and stays for a few days, then i notice it is sticking out like 1/4 inch?

    Any ideas?

Have you lubed it? Sometimes there is binding in the hinge that will not let the door close completely.
