Well duh. The problem is I can be slightly OCD about stuff sometimes, and I have a few concerns. 1) I want to make sure the color-matched decals REALLY match. I'm not sure how to get a spray can of my exact color truck, or if I take it somewhere how will they match it? 2) How do I make sure to get them back onto the EXACT same spot they were from?

I wish they just sold color-matched emblems. That would be much easier.

take them off , have them colour matched , re install them per Toyota emblem specs which can be found with some searching in Sockmonkey's thread section

There's an auto paint supply shop near me that makes small batches of whatever color and will supply them in an aerosol can. I think there's a guy on ebay that sells them too. Probably for something like the emblems though, the 'Duplicolor' type cans would probably be a close enough match.

There's a 'blacking out the emblems' thread here someplace where the guy outlined a couple sides of the emblems with painter's tape before removal so he could get them back in the same spot when done. Seemed like the way to go.

Give this company your vehicle make, model, year, and color code and they will get your exact color in a touch up pen, bottle, or spray can.

What's the secret to remove them so you can stick them back on again? The heat & fishing line trick works if you want to re use? Do you you need to treat the adhesive before reinstalling?

I grabbed a blow dryer and heated the badge up then rain the strongest fishing line i could between the truck and emblem. you can do it without heating them but makes it quicker.

Remove the excess adhesive on the truck with a blow dryer and your nail. I used the blow dryer and a knife to get it off the emblem. Alcohol also worked well. Clean the area where you wanna stick them back on with some sticker remover then wash the area and appply

Remove adhesive from emblem before painting i got ahead of myself and did it the other way and ended up re paiting

for the best result. Sand them. Clean them. Self etching primer and apply two light coats of paingt and one heaver one good luck man meessage me if you have any issues or need advice

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
I like my badges, I think my truck would look too bland without them.
