I wouldn't recomend rubbing alcohol. It stripped the clear coat off my paint in one spot when I was debadging.

Holy shit! Rubbing alcohol shouldn't take off your clear coat! I'd be right to the dealer for a respray!

Debadging is retarded, but that's just my opinion. :)

Remove everything and got a small Toyota red badge for the lower left side of the tailgate.

Best to remove is to use a heat lamp. Heat until emblem is hot then it should pull off fairly easy. A plastic putty knife could be used to help. Alcohol is not bad to remove residue but for stubborn residue use prep sol solvent, (But use only enough to remove residue). As 3dd11 said, use 3m adhesive to re-apply

Well I just recently removed my side Tacoma emblems and just like the OP I ended up removing everything, and the stickers today too. Except I trimmed PreRunner to just Runner and kept it on. It looks way clean and nice now. Gives it that stealth custom clean look, really changed it I must say. And leaving "Runner V6" is a nice ill touch.

I'm going to platiderp the front emblem, I'm debating to do the same for what I left in the rear though....

    Scratching:
Also when I removed the little Toyota emblem from rear, I used an aged rag that was too dry so it looked like it hazed my clear coat. (I used microfiber for all others....recommend!) luckily I had some Nu Finish Scratch Doctor and also the polisher. Few coats of both and all good now  :

    Materials:
I used fishing line and goo off, worked very well...only that I had 10lb test line, so it kept snapping. Get/use high pound test line and it's a jiffy...

Took everything off once I got home, even the dealer advertisement while I was standing @ the dealer. They aren't giving me free oil changes or tire rotations to advertise where I bought the truck.

I de-badged the front and added the TOYOTA. De-badged the rear and added trd and 4wd logo to match my 4wd flaps. ;)

Haven't read all of the posts, so I'm sure somebody has already said something similar...

I de-badged the tail and painted the "Tacoma" badges on the doors black. I also added an old-school "TACOMA" sticker on the tailgate.

Like this one... (Not my truck, and I don't have the decals on the side. Just showing what my tailgate looks like.)

I debadged the TRD decals and the tailgate but left the door emblems. I am ordering a new decal set from sockmonkey and I have been looking for the 1st gen TOYOTA for the tailgate.

Mine is an SR5 so no crazy decals. I think mine is just enough. Two door emblems and two tailgate emblems. If I had the TRD, the stickers would've been gone on day 1. That's just me! I've never liked big decals on any vehicle.

I feel the Tacoma badging is tastefully done. I think the chrome badging looks sharp on the darker paint. If I had a lighter body color I would more than likely darken the badging

I kept the TRD decals because I've been told it makes me look younger.
