Are there any non-undercarriage ways to carry a tire that doesn't require me to buy an aftermarket bumper?

That being said, what are the most affordable swing-out bumper solutions if I HAVE to go that route?

I built a platform for my bed that houses my spare. It's a 255 and fits perfect under the 2x12s. If you have a much wider tire, it won't work though because the platform will have to be taller to cover it.You could also do a wilco hitch spare tire carrier.

I assume you have had it for a couple years. Have you had any issues with the hinges loosening up? Seems like there would be a lot of pressure of the moving parts (hinges). It is something I have looked at getting, but I am curious about any longterm issues.

Nope this thing is built to last, no rattles, rust. Keep the main bolt greased and you are good to go.

Also relocated my back up camera to the straight bar that doesn't swing using a Pelfrybilt camera relocate kit. Relocated the license plate as well.

Another vote for wilco here. Ive got two 3.5 gallon fuelpax on mine and it has held up great.

I have driven 70mph on dirt roads before and it hasnt even loosened up the wedgelock. Im surprised how little movement there is with this. Its a solid unit for sure, and american made:oldglory:

I like using the bed rack for mine, though it's not for everyone (if you need all of your bed space). They make taller racks too that would work, I've also seen people put them on their roof racks but I imagine that'd be a bitch to get on/off, if you have a heavy E rated larger spare. Screen Shot 2018-02-13 at 2.19.59 PM.jpg

I think a swing out bumper is the only other real way to do it that wouldn't compromise bed space or put the tire somewhere that it would be difficult to get to.

You've been using the wedgelock in lieu of a hitchpin right?

Yup I don't use those lockable hitch pins, last one I had to use a torch to get it out
