Because I find LED lights to be completely useless and I now have some on my truck. So a joke.

Que the "I commute 100miles each way in the dark to work daily so I need them" crew.

I originally bought these to mount in the bed as rear/side faceing lights for night wheeling but axed that plan. I got cabin fever and wanted to play with the welder so stuck these on. We will see how many times I actually use them, I'll prolly go get lost on some farm roads these week and see if they are actually usefull.

Most of the time I only use mine in the winter because of less day light and I almost always end up at camp after dark. Summer time it's rare to get to camp late unless I am purposely arriving the first night at like midnight.

I can count on one hand how many times I've used my LED lights since I've put them on. I either never ride at night or when I do, I'm following someone and don't want to blind them.

Yea I could see these pointing down and to the side for night wheeling. I rarely drive at night as well, and I live in a crazy populated area. I can flash them at the JK bros around here that drive with their 3 light bars on at 2pm.

Found the original bill of sale for the Tacoma today cleaning out the garage. I bought it on 12/14/2005 for $15,300 and it had 48k miles on it. Almost 15yrs and 170k miles later it's a bit different now.

AFAS led lights most of my life I've never had anything other than stock headlights, but for the past 5 years my $80 ebay stock lights leave a little to be desired and am looking forward to having more illumination on trails.

Same here, these are basically useless on the street as they are way too bright as I'm in kind of an urbanish area, and useless on the trail unless I'm trail leading, which I dont like doing lol. I may face them waaaaay down if im night wheeling. I did up my TW mall wheeling cred with them though.

Finally went wheeling for the first time in almost 2 yrs, hit up an offroad park with a small group. The pro comp MT2s are pretty sweet, I like them, this was my first time out with them. It was wet and sloppy and they did fine. I ruined a JKers attempt at youtube celebrity and their drone shot, and didnt break any parts on my truck, so today was a good day. My 2 pics for the day:

    Quick question slander,
Did you have a 3/8” gap from trans mount to new TG crossmember
    When you did install?
I do and don’t know if I should loosen
Motor mounts and just let it sit down on pad
    Or make a spacer

I dont think so. Keep in mind I was using a 4xinnovations hd mount and have since moved the mount to the rear most case and switched to a stock rubber mini truck mount so it's not an apple's to apple's comparison.

Saying all that if it was me I would just tighten everything down and call it a day, there is a lot of lex on those motor mounts.

My halfass review of the pro comp MT2 in 37x12.50x17:
    20200523_125120.jpg
On road: they are great, balanced nicely even on beadlocks, great in wet weather and overall a nice street mannered MT. I only have 5k miles or so on them, and the truck is used more as a toy now, so dont expect any long term wear data.
Offroad: worked great so far. I wheeled them in wet, muddy conditions on sandy rocks and they stuck pretty well. I was running them between 5 and 2psi. They wrapped around the rocks very nicely, no chunking, and no side wall gouges, and I was trying to jam the sidewall into rocks to see how they would do. They also cleaned out pretty well even in double low. I like them better than the toyos so far and light years better than the swampers I had. So far they seem to be about as good as the KM2s which I ran for years and loved!

I would recomend them for a nicely priced street biased MT that works real well offroad.

After wheeling noticed my tire now rubs on my pax side shock resi. Time for some internet wheeling poser point reduction.
    20200607_140129.jpg
Moved it to the engine bay, hose clamped it to the airbox support.
    20200607_141452.jpg

Other than that, the firewall tub was successfull, tires dont come anywhere near it, they actually just barely kiss the body mount now.

Was looking at the truck today in the garage and noticed a crack on my rear spring hangar. Also looks like I'll need to plate above the rear hangar and tie it into the hangar with a scab plate as the metal around that weld looks pretty rough. Man its tempting to just frame swap this truck once I find the $$$

Note the crack on the rear most weld.
    20200804_125021.jpg
Rust around the top of the weld.

If it involves backhalfing the truck probably out of the question. Possibly moving to a state with vehicle inspections and I'll need to keep this thing road worthy!
