@sk8rjess one of the 1st gen 37s on IFS OGs from the TTORA days! First time meeting him, it was cool as I read that build a ton of times over there.

Yea it was cool to finally meet him. I remember his build from way back in the mid 2000s on TTORA.

Started working on getting the parking brake hooked up as I need this POS safety inspected (fucking east coast) before the end of next month. Jesus I hate drum brakes!! Not too many pics yet, unless you want to see rusted and broken parts. Apparently I tagged one of the bell cranks on a rock, a bolt broke off inside the rotor and ground itself almost to dust LOL! I need to order a few more misc springs and crap, I left some of the fj80 parking brackets intact on the axle so I also lucked out there for routing the cable.

Finished up the fj80 parking brake, big disclaimer here, this may or may not be a "it needs to work one time a year to pass an inspection" type setup, so this probably won't work for daily use. However I did manage to get the factory Tacoma cable to reach the fj80 bell cranks. The brake works great, holds on my inclined driveway and will stall the truck in 1st. I did have to relocate a bracket on the axle to attach the taco brake cable to, you can see where I burned that on below.
    Anyway here are the pics:

I did have to unthread this all the way out, took forever, 20years of crap on the threads and I couldn't even use heat as my battery cable is right there and there are fuel lines.

I will also say adjusting the parking brake sucks. You are blindly fiddling with the adjuster through a tiny hole and you cant see anything.

Next up slap some exhaust pipe together so it dumps past the rear axle and get it inspected, and then remove all this crap and store it for next year Lol!!

All the exhaust has to do is dump behind the passenger compartment.

I mean mine is hacked right after the muffler and has been for yrs and still passes. Some stock trucks like the old lightnings side exit.

Pretty sure I would be fired from midas. It only needs to work for one day a year.

Skip not that I don't trust you, but.....

I actually did do some non temporary hackery, I moved the muffler up higher and closer to the body, it's no longer even with the bottom of the frame rail.

Prepping the truck to go wheeling next weekend. Removed the temp exhaust pipe and disconnected the parking brake. I cleaned up my hacktackular battery cables in the bed by replacing them with marine terminals:
    IMG_20220605_132152099.jpg
    Much better now:

I also ordered up a Bun Trail welder to replace my jumper cables and rods that I carry now. I don't know if it will be here before my trip this upcoming weekend, but can't wait to get my hands on it and hopefully never need to use it.
