My local dealer doesn't have rentals on site. That said, anytime I've had warranty work done, they've arranged substitute transportation with a third party company. They've had the vehicle brought to the dealer and ready for me, then when I pick up my truck I leave the rental at the dealer. Never an issue.

This happened both when I had the airbag/catalytic converter recall (which was a day job) and when my frame was replaced (3 months). YMMV

My thoughts too, if your money is green and legal that's all I care about in terms of visuals.

I had long hair (almost all the way down to my ass) for quite a while. Even as a teen I preferred metal/hardcore band shirts, jeans, and Vans or boots. I have a few tattoos as well, one of which is pretty much on display as I wear short sleeves year round..it's also my largest one. I have one I try to keep covered in mixed company so as not to cause issues..hee hee.

Long ago when the Mitsubishi 3000GT came out, a friend was 18-19 and babyfaced went to look at one. They laughed him out the door about being a test pilot, didn't ask for his license as they said he isn't old enough, etc. He went to another dealer and was treated right, bought it in cash that day. Drove back to the first shop and showed them the price/receipt.

the engines aren’t built in Mexico though. There built in the Alabama engine plant. Then shipped to Mexico.

Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
I shopped six different dealers until I found one willing to do a straight up quotation. One of them busted a 4 square out on me. So, 83% of the dealers I approached were just looking to wring out their customers, financially.

There’s a lot of stories on here about people calling corporate with good results. That’s probably what I’d do in your instance. May have already been mentioned but I can’t look through 16 pages haha.

<200 miles is obnoxious for them to not put you in a new vehicle to drive in the meantime. Best of luck.

on the bright side you can now almost visit the BsT forums - it takes me a long time to accumulate 70 posts lol- still not there in the tundra forum.. although it’s not as cool

Correct and as someone who lives in Alabama I wouldn’t say that’s much better. The final QC and build quality seems to be the issue.

Is the plant anywhere near Anniston, Alabama? If it is then the mystery is solved!

Don’t think so but did do peds clinical rotation there for NP school and well interesting people for sure. I’m not a fan of the state at all and we plan on moving to open our own practice in 3 years once I’m vested with VA.

Alabama or VA? Neither. Bought back my active duty time at 5 years I’m vested and can collect that federal pension later. I’m planning on opening a small functional medicine practice in TN, SC or NC

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
That's now how it works these days...unless you've bought at least 5 qualified vehicles in the past. I know 2 guy that have tried to buy exclusive Porsche and Ferrari cars in the last 2 years and couldn't get anyone to talk to them until they were on 'the list'. With Porsche, you can buy base models/lower rung vehicles, not the nice stuff without being on 'the list'. IIRC, the discussion was any new Ferrari.

I asked about the water because of chemical contamination on Ft McClellan and from Monsanto making agent orange and contaminating the local water.

It was from 2012-2022 now the roi on investing is dog shit and gets cut in half post taxes in the coastal states. When cost of capital is 7-12% for a new car … it makes a ton of sense.

also 500k for someone with lambo money is like buying a coke for a peasant.

Tesla was doing that from the start, they made a roadster and a sedan. Roadster owners could get up the ladder faster for a sedan..I've heard of people buying the roadster just for that reason.

Or if you are truly that wealthy to afford those kinds of toys, as you said it's like a soda for myself.

Said no truly wealthy or fiscally sound / intelligent person (coming from someone who used to think a car payment was normal and not a big deal). Maybe maybe an argument could have been made at below rate of return assuming those same people are maximizing their cash flow appropriately and investing (doubtful) or a 0% deal but that’s not the world we live in anymore.

because there's a better palce to put your money than putting it on a depreciating liability.
if your truck is 50k, instead of paying it in full $50k so u wont pay 6% APR put your money on (example) S&P annual return of 10% or nasdaq annual return of 20 percent for the alst 20 years or $SMH 40% return for the alst 5 years or if you have no idea about the stock market and dont want to learn put that money on a deposit on a property, open an llc and rent out the property, put the truck under the LLC so now u have the rental property paying for the truck, once the truck is paid off your rental property goes up in value you can then get $ from teh equity then rinse/repeat.

anotehr way to do this so u get protected against lawsuits, open a holding company in vegas or montana or wyoming. put the property under teh holding company, make sure this company donest do any business. have the LLC rent the proerty from the holding company. when ug et sued as we are litigious society they'll get nothing from you as there's no property under the LLC.

soda and lambo is bad comparison. when u are done drinking a soda u throw it away. once u own the lambo it's a liability, maintenance, insurance, misc. 80% of NBA, NFL players go broker after 3 years from retirement, where do you think there 100-200 million went? buy a mansion = takes maintenance, buy a lambo= takes maintenance.

google "omar ashraf" , one of the better option traders that i know. he talked about his lambo aventador. when he got his lambo he was making 4-5 million a year on the stock market but he made sure that if he stops trading that he'd still be able to afford his lifestyle. the way to do this is passive income. instead of paying 500k for the lambo, he put his money on a passive income that would pay for his lifestyle so his life style wouldnt be a liability even if he loses his main income.

i encourage you guys to read "rich dad, poor dad"
author talked about not paying anything with his money, anything. he uses the banks money.

on the capital gains tax, that's easy. we own a property in puerto rico.
anywhere in teh world you live as long as you are a US citizen, Afghanistan, china, new zealand even in the moon u gotta pay capital gains tax to uncle sam. guess where u have to live so u dont pay cap gains? - puerto rico.
i lvie in the southern states.
i pay 0 income tax and 0 cap gains tax
