I liked the Bronze truck also. I still wouldn't mind an XC, but Toyota makes them hard to find. Prerunner, or SR SR5 4x4 but the Nissan comes in for a few thousand less and that's with 4wd. I expect to pay market price on any new truck, so the one that costs less does have an advantage. I do like the more simple tech found on the Frontier and I'm with you and not liking to have to scroll through menus to turn things on and off.

When I left this morning some dumb message pops up on the screen, I don't know what it even said as it went away on its own. Problem was I was looking at the message instead of where I was going, in case it was an important warning. I think it was something to do with software rights or we are giving out your information. Either way it wasn't important at all with regard to opperating the vehicle.

    But seriously, what is that?

I learned on a Chevy Citation, the one where the power assist worked when or if it wanted to. Nuff said.

Plus who knows what that other person is used to etc..

To a point yes because of the increase in recent times but everything has done that, plus it's supply and demand. Or as I said to my wife when I fixed her broken door lock for about $100 "why so much?" was her only statement. I said "because that's how much it costs. Either fix it or keep having to walk to the other side to unlock it, but you've been complaining about doing that too"

Dealer experience, both the actual dealer and the main office is why I refuse to own a GM. Had they done what their written warranty said at some point I'd have stayed.

You got some who always pay the $20, some who will rarely, some who never will.

I've always been a minimalist with vehicles, in part because I owned so many 10 yrs or older and sometimes didn't know if they ran before buying..much less have a bunch of tech crap to fuss with, and that's the age it will probably go out anyway

It's funny you say that. While my motor was crossing over and taking it's last breaths it was rapid fire flashing messages that I could not read and watch the road at same time but remember seeing "Visit Your Dealer" at the end of every one! I cooperated!! lol

I usually put a garbage bag over it when I'm done using it. I've had it at least 10 years and if it isn't covered it will not fail to scare the shit out of me some times when I see it out of the corner of my eye.. one of my neighbors has one dressed up and he sits it in his backyard and like a scare crow. As you go by you think there's a man standing at the fence and he changes his clothes and hat every once in a while

    You did great. Congratulations.

I can't believe there's still someone saying you should have kept the Tacoma. Weird.

They must like a gamble or a challenge. Have at it. There was no way I was taking it back and when they finally got it back to me it died again the next day. Although a minor thing that was fixed it doesn't take much to think that this is the shape of things to come. Thanks much... I'm happy with my decision.

Congrats! What a journey for you.

I was one of the folks who switched from the Frontier to the Taco because of the steering primarily. So much about the Nissan that I liked just fine (the more basic dash layout, dual climate control standard, metal bed vs 'composite' and few other things), but I remember both of my test drives thinking that I could live with the steering effort, and then about 2 weeks into owning it and driving it in my normal routes / parking spots /etc, I realized I'd made a mistake. I hung onto it for a year + before trading it for my Tacoma, and no regrets so far. I just like how the Tacoma drives better. But like I said in an earlier post, there are folks who LOVE the Frontier's steering feel - just not me.

Hope that truck treats you great!

I priced the frontier here in San Diego when doing my DD, trying to come-up with a plan & look at options...
In a 4door I didnt see much savings to make it worth it....
    in my market...

Congrats! I hope that this rig just goes down the road and only wants oil changes and gas fill ups. Any interior pics?

I remember you speaking about it. I loved the Tacoma TRD OR... everything about it was great until it wasn't.. lol. My issue was definitely a one-off thing but the whole process made me lose confidence in Toyota at every level. I guess time will tell if the steering is an issue but I don't think it will be. Looking forward to finally getting out and having so me fun. The desert is beautiful in the winter. Thanks for the well wishes.

The crew cabs are hovering around the same between Frontier and Tacoma for 2025 it seems. It's the 24's they were giving away.... some 20% below MSRP like the one I grabbed. Some SL crew cabs also getting .09% for 60 months. Hard to pass up

When I got my second truck, for me there was no other option...
Looking at my local dealers website now 66 rwd, 13 4x4....?

I liked my truck enough anyway but I loved the 0.9 financing too
