Does anyone know how to get into the fuse/relay box that is under the hood ? I need to tap into a wire and I would rather do it under that and run my wire through the factory bundle than on its own.

I tried unbolting it from the body but i cannot move it much and cannot get it apart. Any help would be great. Pictures help too !

Thanks. Got it apart and everything done the way i wanted it.

To anyone else to tries to get this apart to do any wiring, here is a few tips.

    1. disconnect the power ring terminal inside the box and take the ring off of the post.
    2. disconnect the 3 plugs that are plugged into the inside of the panel next to the ring terminal.
    3. use 2 small flat blades to slowely pop the tabs back and lift up. the 2 wiring bunches that are along the fender side that go into the cab and then down in front of the box are part of it and you can gently pull up on either of those to help get the panel out of the box.

    Enjoy

I need to lengthen the wire that goes from the positive battery terminal into the underside of the fuse/relay box. Do you know what it is for and if it is easy to change once the box is opened up?

Ok so i managed to separate the main fuse/breaker box and install a longer 4ga wire to the battery.

There are 4 detents inside the box you have to release. Then take the nut off to release the other battery wire (starter I think). I was then able to separate the top of the panel by pulling up on the bundle of wires to the cab on the drivers side and the white wire that I was replacing on the passenger side. I will post some pictures once I get them uploaded.

Sry guise, I just noticed that this is in the 2nd gen forum. We having the same trouble getting into the 1st gen relay box. :D
