I am having problems with Fuse 7 within fuse box in cab. I just had the AC compressor replaced by dealer (under warranty, thank God!). Yesterday this fuse kept blowing every time I turned the AC on. This happened 6 times before it stopped. I checked behind the fuse box and can't see any shorts or noticeable problems. This fuse controls many functions. Also, the power windows stopped working and this fuse has nothing to do with them. Any insight would be appreciated.

Situation is exact to one I repaired 2 years ago.
Power windows stopped working as well as the ac.

The compressor clutch/coil ass. was installed improperly.
A retainer was not installed on the coil causing the coil pack to rotate off its centering pin and
pinch the power wire to the coil. Will be real hard to see but if you can reach in and grab the
Wiring behind the compressor pulley (with the engine off of course) and see if you can move the wiring rotating the whole coil ass. If it moves freely then that's the issue. If it doesn't then check for a pinched wire along the harness in that area. If neither of these is true then unplug the compressor and drive for a few days and see if the fuse still blows. The coil could be shorted internally.
This is just in my notes.
Having this issue immediately after a replacement indicates they should go right back into that area and recheck.

Don't try to fix yourself. Have them recheck.

Someone at the dealer did not check there work . Then whoever picked the vehicle up seems to have not checked things either before they left.

Thanks Tacoma Mike. I dropped it off at the dealer who did the work this evening. I started it today and the fuse blew again. This time the speedometer only worked when I pressed the brake pedal. Definitely something shorting in a wire harness.

And to Wyoming09, I did check out the fix before I left the dealer. It was working fine until yesterday the 30th and it was fixed on the 26th. It has been in the 80's all week and the AC has been used every day.

Wire assembly for compressor was shorted causing electrical problems.
