Getting ready to do my retro soon. I got an extra pair of headlights so I can take my time to do retro and run the harness and swap out the lights when done. Where did you mount your ballasts?

Ran into a problem while troubleshooting...my projectors ended up being perfectly horizontal when i test fitted them :D BUT when i tried the hibeam-lowbeam...the high beam did not come on. i dont if the connections are absolutely correct but the low beams come on and when i switch back from the high beam the low beams do a quick off-on.

Heres a vid to give you exactly what its doing

How did you attach that bracket to the headlight housing? Did you drill 2 holes in the housing to attach it? I have a pair of Matsuhita ballasts and some Morimotos as well, trying to figure out which would be easier to mount.

A few mods here and there and counting....
With the morimoto ballast, i used the supplied bracket and mounted the same way as in that picture. Used one self tapping screw on the top and industrial velcro behind the ballast to further support it. It's solid and looks almost oem.

Is this still true with a lifted truck? I am going to do a retro for my HID's here fairly soon and want to make sure I have them aimed correctly. From what you said, I am assuming you need that drop from the height of your headlights no matter how high the truck is. But if your truck is lifted its going to be higher than stock and the cutoff line could be high enough to still blind drivers right?

Yes that is still the proper way to aim your lights. My truck is lifter about 5.5" in front and I have never once been flashed or any thing for blinding oncoming drivers. After you install your lights and you drive around with them you will be able to see your cutoff. If it is too high for your liking the lower it down some. But if you aim them properly you will be fine and will not blinde other drivers.

Can you get more pictures of your headlights with less glare?

I'm on the fence about painting the stuff yellow...
