GA Tacoma Owners BS Thread

GeoTaco, Think we should start a new thread about this meet? Seems like a lot of people that used to post in this thread no longer keep up with it.

 

I'm biased towards Macon since it is so close to me, but I do understand other people's complaints about the drive time. Central GA makes the most sense to me but I'm pretty much down for anywhere (I'm sure my wife can find somewhere to shop if we have this in the Atlanta area.) I do think that the first meet should be just that, a meet. We need to get together and find common ground with people from our general area. Leave the offroading for future meetings.

parking is 5 dollars
campsites are reasonable priced
swimming pool
walking trail
no drinking, boat motors have a restriction to 10hp ( really small lake )
concealed firearm - must have GA permit to carry

 

Raised around Atlanta as a child, high school years spent in Towns County (lived in Young Harris went to school in Hiawassee), moved away for about 10 years, now I have been back in Georgia for about 5 years in a little town called Newnan. Mar. 13th bought my 2010 DC SWB 2WD. So, no off road adventures for me, I will get stuck....

 

I'd be in for some wheeling/camping.....as long as it's not too crazy on the wheeling end. I don't wanna ruin a brand new $32,000 truck

Local Georgia Tacoma owners - These are for sale in the buy sell area but thought I would drop it here as well in case anyone is interested.

Ivan Stewart TRD Wheels 16" 6-Lug w/23 Lug nuts included (my 5 year old was helping swap out tires, it is somewhere in the yard or sand box). Excellent condition No scratches anywhere weights always been mounted on inside and balance out perfect. These wheels have never been offroad. Wheels work with TPMS - presently have standard valve stems in them.

Tires are BFG Rugged Trail T/A 265x70x16 - tires have 35K miles and have been rotated every 3500 miles - tread wear is very even - tire guy claims to have around 10K left on them.

Asking $500 OBO for entire package - I bought wheels new from TRD 18 months ago for $1,000 plus shipping.

The wheels STILL SELL for over $200.00 EA + shipping on E-bay.

My lease is up and I figure someone else may want them rather than give them to the Stealership.

pick-up only or I will deliver local 50 miles. I live near Buford GA

Located in Macon/Athens GA
She has ran good since the day I bought her. She had 123k on her when I bought her. The only new parts I have had to put on include a starter and a rear wheel hub. The oil has been changed every 3k miles. There are a few dents on the passenger side where a deer ran in the side of me. The tires are Nitto Grapplers and probably have 50% tread on them. 4WD works good no problems there. Most miles are due the the fact that I live 1.5hours from my work, although I only work 9 days a month.
Downers:
-Needs a new AC belt, compressor is fine
-Needs a new mas air sensor.(check engine light bc of this, has been on since I bought it due to the sensor)
-Passenger side dent
-Needs frt brake pads
-small oil leak although it never runs low between oil changes

I'm a neighbor that counts for somethin, right? Only about 1.5m from Atl. If I had my choice I would be living in Athens.

 

I love Athens. Plan on havin a house there when the wife and I retire. Maybe then we will be able to afford season tickets to the football games.

 

I'm new here... from Macon and moved to Warner Robins a few years ago.

Good news guys, My truck should be back to me this Wednesday. And my lift kit and new tires might be all on it to.

By the way...

Who lives around in kennesaw? I see about 3 tricked out tacos and I always wonder if there on here.

 

I used to go to school at KSU and lived on campus from '05-'09. I'll be back down there this Tuesday and Wednesday, but I haven't been down there in a while.

My Mother & Sister live on SSI. Off Demere Rd
