Sorry for missing you first go around. I really was lazy and just copied @gixxerphil ‘a list from last time. :rofl:Added a couple extra that had posted on last couple of pages on the BAMA thread.

No problem. It has been a busy month and a half so I have only had time to check the forums a couple times a week. It takes a while just to catch on the Bama thread. Looking forward to this though, thanks for starting a plan :D:thumbsup:

I have rode 2 different parts of KAT, if you take the part that goes through Harlan you need to stay at Putney Trail head and ride Black Mountain, it is a fun place to ride.

There is a few good places to ride in Kentucky, Turkey Bay is a fun place too but it is on the opposite side of Kentucky from Harlan.

I’m 2wd but 2.5” lift. Provided weather cooperates, this shouldn’t get technical, right? I might move some things around and justify a hidden winch setup.

I've never done the trail ride, but have been hunting, camping, fishing, and backpacking all over that area since 1977. It is a beautiful, remote area where you could well be 20+ miles from pavement with no cell service. But I haven't been anywhere yet that you couldn't take a Prius unless it snows. The rougher 4X4 only roads are gated and the gates are only opened during managed big game hunts. The upper elevations going up to Conasauga Lake are gated from January-March due to snow. They should be open in April.

What is now East Cowpen trail was an unpaved section of GA Hwy 2 until it was closed in the mid 1980's. Before they gated the road and made it a trail that was a challenging 4X4 ride.

Rather than just drive I'd strongly advise parking and doing some day hikes. Jacks River Falls is a popular spot.

A short, easy hike just to stretch your legs would be to the Gennett Poplar tree

Chestnut lead trailhead is a short distance from Hickey Gap

The campground at Conasauga lake is closed, but you can still visit the picnic area and there is a 1 mile trail around the lake.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
