How bad is it? None of the pictures I've seen look real serious. One guy drove an suv with a trailer, but that was awhile ago and things deteriorate. I assume being a trail it never gets graded. I avoid banging the parts on the bottom of my truck on rocks and I don't want to replace the bumper now. I drove the road to where the trail meets it last summer, that was easy a 2wd could have done it. Only disadvantage to a 2wd would have been no low range which I used crossing the huge water bars.

The trail didn't look that bad in the pictures on the web but I respect the experience of people who have been there. I'd go if I could do it without damage. One guys trip report he took an suv with a trailer and said it was ok. But that was several years ago and conditions change.

You could make it stock, you just run the risk of maybe a little bit of damage. Getting to our camping spot up on the ridge might be the hardest part.

It's not bad at all. Stock trucks can do it and damage is avoidable with maneuvering and a spotter

I'm back in then. I want to go.

I've been lots of places where some damage was possible and I've always avoided it. I'm not afraid to abort and turn around if I must.

There was the road to the antennas at the top of Tiger Mtn where they left the gate open one day. Knowing WA treaspas l law I headed up (it appeared open to public passage). I was in my F250 with the classic granny gear transmission so low range low was lower than a Tacoma's. It was so steep I was afraid to stop. The F250 would claw forward and slip back a bit. There was no turning around. A friend of mine said he took his jeep up there once and met someone coming down. He stopped and his jeep started to slide. It did a 180 with the wheels locked. At that point he decided to go down.

You don't remember me hitting my bumper? haha And I know Cam heard it when I hit the rock. Yes it is doable in a stock truck but just be prepared you run a good risk of damage. Im not sure though Cam we should camp up there with 7 trucks I think the lake will be a much better option. We can go run that part of the trail though for sure.

The bugs will be thick down at the lake, but yeah i dont know if 7 trucks would fit up on the ridge. that view tho!!

don't we have pics of the trail from last year? let me look for some. I would do it stock but I'd probably remove stock mudflaps or at least the fronts.

well this is Van Epps Pass which is connected to the Fortune Creek trail. It's just rocky and nothing extreme.

Oh I plan on doing that hill climb again that is past the lake :D

The first half is a road. The first half of the trail was impassable. I know I tried and avoided any damage. It was like a river bed stuck on the side of a mountain where I turned around. Well I couldn't turn around right away I had to back down. A lifted armored jeep might have made it. ATVs could do it.

How do you take mud flaps off? I've cut mine shorter and had no trouble with them.

The only way I'm going up there is if I make it up the hill climb. I don't need to plow through the trees in my black truck again haha! The bugs were pretty thick even up there unfortunately.... :/

How much water can we expect? how deep? I haven't moved my rear differential breather yet. How about the front differential, transmission, and transfer case, where are their breathers?

Just a few puddles that aren't very deep, I haven't done anything with breathers and was fine.
