If you have the auto dimming mirror, yes. I did it in my 2017 with one from Bob's Mirrors.

It should if they're advertised as working with your MY Tacoma.

 

For me I didn't have a plug connection. I wired it to work. I'm pretty sure you can change the plug layout if it's different

 

just realized it's a 10 pin and the taco is a 12 pin

Looks sweet! Where did you mount/store the clicker?

 

It’s behind the climate control cluster, magnetized to the bottom of the steel stereo frame. I’ll check on it in a few months and see if it fell or moved around.

 

I did the same thing, but used a pushbutton that say "Air Horn" instead. I figure if someone broke into my truck they probably wouldnt push the Air Horn button!

 

Does anyone know what wires should be used to do the splice?

I just had a Chamberlain LiftMaster installed but it has no simple 2 wire push button option. I was using my Paradox security system to generate a momentary signal to trigger a relay to act like the 2 wire push button. Using the info in this tread I know I will be able to mod a universal wireless remote to interface with my Paradox security system.
Once I figured out where to solder the wires, this mod was actually quite easy. I now have control of my garage door opener by entering a code into my Paradox security system.

If you like messing around with Alex devices and Home Automation, pick up a Tailwind garage door device. I converted my lift master opener to a completely automated solution. I can use the App with or without Alexa and their Bluetooth device to trigger my garage door opening or closing based on my gps geo-zone. Also can program to shut after a open amount of door time or hard time shut. Supports multiple cars and doors.

Pretty sure most new openers have auomation built in, so you just really need to download and configure the app.

Did mine a year or two ago. All hard wired. 12V remotes.

 

Question… I have a 2017 Limited and I have a garage door/gate opener built into the rear view mirror, actually three buttons. Do other models have this, or is it just the limited?

 

Both my 2018 & 2019 TRD Off-Road models had/have the 3-button rear view mirror. Not just restricted to the Limited models.
