i was looking at ways to make them work but it would require some horizontal plates welded to the sides. Found some 2” casters at Lowe’s today for $5 a pop and took a gamble, feels sturdy so far so we’ll see how it does in the long term

I put my 20 ton on some cheap 1 in casters just through the holes. Worked for a while till summer came and oblonged the wheels and now it doesn’t roll very well lol

I was fuckin around with it some tonight. Fit and finish of the stock isn’t what it could be, but I’m not Ben Napier from hgtv so it’ll have to do lol It’s an ugly duckling but it doesn’t have to win any beauty pageants to do what it needs to do

For all you who wrench on early american hotrods, and customs- this is my friends shop in Martinez, Ca. He builds hotrod for a living, and also builds from scratch neon signs. Bends and pumps the glass tubes and everything. He’s like family so I spent hundreds of hours in this shop. Built a ‘28 ford model roadster pickup there....a 1940’s era style hotrod.

It is an amazing place. A neat freak like me. He’s been gracious enough to let me store alot of my parts there. That flathead pictured is going in a future roadtser i’ll build down the road.

I feel the same way man lol
I helped build that shop and I still get blown away every time I go there.
Stopped in yesterday to see his newly restored huge neon sign he just finished for a customer. It’s double sided, from the 1940’s.
Thought I’d share a few more- I’ll leave you all alone after these I promise lol

It’s a bit crammed at the moment, as he has 3 project builds waiting- he has another building that houses several hotrods, so it’ll get cleared out soon. It would surprise anyone to see the way it works with everything in the pictures, but it does quite well. He even has a 15’ us navy ww2 ship lathe in there! A Regal Leblond.

I just love seeing all those multi-carb intake manifolds, hanging from the rafters. What a treasure trove of parts.

the count is at 83 manifolds last i checked
Most of them are for 1940’s flatheads, early small block chevy, oldsmobile rocket, buick nailhead, early Hemi, y-block ford, and big block chevy/ford.
