Need to be able to get your fingers around them (you of all life forms should appreciate that) and need space/clear sightline for the size labels. AND they're goddamn pretty as hell!

    All valid points.

.. but you know I’m sensitive about my finger size, especially after that first weekend we hung out and took Greek baths with Ria, the discus champion turned masseuse.

The 3d printer route is only good if you have a 3d printer, and even then it's not really cheaper. Matco wants $5.95 for 25 1/4" socket pegs. It'd be hard to match that price, let alone beat it. That said, It wouldn't be hard to design some stuff that would click right into standard pegboard. I've grown to love being able to grab a whole block of sockets and carry them to my workspace though...

How could I forget? I've been several octaves higher ever since.

Regular pegboard is spaced too far apart for that purpose. The plates Matco sell along with all the organizers for ratchets, screwdrivers, wrenches.. that’s when it adds up. It’s a big chunk of change especially for the sole purpose of organization. I’m sure there are other brands of plates these days, and likely the widgets to utilize them.

Now that we’re discussing it though, I’d be pretty happy just having my sockets organized that way, wonder what that looks like cost wise. I don’t have any issues with storage of my wrenches or ratchets. Just don’t like much about socket options.

Rounded and folded over some of the teeth of my Knipex Cobra about 20 min ago on some brass of all things.

Not quite sure how that works, but pretty bummed.

YouTube reviews are pretty poor, especially at the beginning. People were like “I got a shirt, 3 brochures and $5 worth of no name tools? These crates are shit.”

They still seem like a box of free samples, but some interesting stuff occasionally. I’d check the YouTube’s and see unboxing videos before committing. Maybe they’ve gotten better.

They are lifetime warranty, so there is that. I've warrantied a few pair in the past, most recent about 3 months ago. fresh Cobras are awesome.

finding and maintaining a casual relationship with one or 2 tool trucks isn't a bad thing.

Sucks that happened. They have a good warranty though so shouldnt be an issue to get them swapped out.

Its another tool but for brass and soft metals the "Water Pump Pliers" ("Pliers Wrench as Knipex calls them too) are awesome. Pretty much the Cobra pliers but with flat, smooth jaws.

I have those also. Use both regularly. The parallel jaw pliers are one of my favorite tools.

What’s the phrase? Pick a color and be a dick about it? Go big blue!

Of course the color doesn’t matter. I happen to have blue. And love it. Cordless tools are life changing. Seriously.

Got my new Makita leaf blower in today. Blew off two big patios in no time flat. But this is where it gets good. Then I used the same battery on my sawzall, to trim some branches that were bugging me. Then used the same sawzall to cut an 1 1/2” off my wheel barrow frame because the stopper was catching too much. Then the same battery on the impact to take the wheel off. Then the same battery on a drill to drill new holes in the metal frame. Then the same battery to impact it all back together.

I can’t believe it took me this long to get cordless tools.

I have a black and decker cordless lawnmower... Works surprisingly well. I'd definitely go with a higher brand if I was paying for it though.

Has anyone bought the Dewalt Toughsystem 2.0 boxes? Trying to figure out if the rolling box will fit under a tonneau cover on a Tacoma.

I have one of the 1.0 boxes and my biggest gripe is the handle isn’t removable to slide it under things (benches, shelves, truck bed, etc). Seems they tried to address that by making the handle extension removable, but the receiver still looks like it extends higher than the lid. From googling the best I can tell the new minimum height dimension is 22” which is still well beyond the 19” bed height of a Tacoma. Seems the only tuck bed that would actually fit under would be an F150 and Silverado (maybe).
