Lowe’s inflated their prices this week, also got an email the other day from Tekton about price increases.

Finally found the new box a home. Left box is "fabrication", middle is "general/automotive" and right is "specialty"...

Still trying to determine the final layout of the middle box. I need to pick up some of the socket organizers posted a few pages back in order to get rid of the molded cases...

Always wanted some of these, trying to fit things together can be a pain sometimes, and I’ve got a project or 2 coming up these should come in handy.
$67 for starter kit wasn’t a bad buy in. 20ea of 4 hole sizes 3 1” long, 3 1/2” long clamps (they squeeze tight, don’t get your finger in there) and the pliers.

the basics, but I’m not building a plane…

Bought me a Bauer band saw and made table for it. Just some 1/4 plate i had sitting around and some 16 gauge square tube for legs that i also had sitting around. After the 15% only cost a total of $110 bucks for the project. Not bad. Cuts up to 1/2 like butter.

So I bought this deal today. Take the add on hammer drill back to HD and come out with an impact and a hammer drill with two 5ah batteries for $182, unless I want to dual wield drills I guess for maximum penetration upload_2022-1-31_16-52-25.jpg

    Stock as all get out.
Their is a comparison between the husky and harbor freight tool box on YouTube and believe it or not the conclusion was that harbor freight was a better built tool box. Good for thought in case you have a HF near you.

Very impressive. Not because of the amount of tools, but the care and attention to detail for storing them. Outstanding work Sir.

I have that one and a 1/4 as well. There's a trick you can do to make the heads a little less floppy. Punch some shims with a rotary hole-punch in some clamshell plastic and some water bottle caps and insert a few into the spring hole under the spring in the lock switch. You'll have to experiment because too many shims won't allow the lock to work well.

EDIT: That eliminated the fore and aft slop. I added a shim washer out of .004" brass on the thread side of the hinge bolt on the 3/8 to eliminate the lateral slop. It's a really solid-feeling rat now. I've heard that not all GW locking flexes need this.

I recently got a Husky cabinet and workbench - both are good quality and solid, especially being "ready to assemble" units.

That box you linked looks nice too...I'll probably get that next or go with US General since they're so well reviewed
