I don't know if this has already been said or not, but if you buy a Harbor Freight Icon toolbox, they apparently send you touch up paint.IMG_20230114_181757397_HDR.jpg

i don't know how i feel about this.

my husky box is bed linered/power coated(not really sure, but it's tough) except for the black anodized aluminum drawer pulls. same with my performax/masterforce box.

it's tough enough that it can deal with some scratching.

but a pretty shiny box is never going to stay pretty and shiny if one uses it...

    I concur.
I'm an old guy who is gentle on tools though.
I'm stoked to have such a good looking tool box to hang out with in my man cave. Lol

It's just weird having this dude send me little bottles of paint every couple of weeks.
I almost sent him a Christmas card for fun.

That's a lot of touch up paint, lol. Definitely a nice perk though, IMO. I wonder if the Icon blue is the same as the US General blue. If so, I wouldn't mind buying one of those off you.

They want you to paint all of your other tools and boxes blue as well

I might use it to hilite lettering on a vise I'm restoring, but that's about it.

Haha, yes. But I will have to ask for shipping.
The last one was $4.80 within CA. I imagine that's what it would be to NM.

Sometimes, tools need to fit specific places, the right tool isn’t always “right” but with some “accommodations” things can happen.

    I got these,
    942E71DF-E5FD-4188-B167-4AABB6DC315F.jpg

Because this was too much ( also acquired a shorter socket)
    8BAB4626-839D-4A9E-ACAA-71E97B532092.jpg

to remove nut from this, no way to lock it down, and a hand ratchet would only spin the whole motor (brake coil failed and burned up pads, no clamp action) notice also the upper left of pic is a brace welded above limiting overhead space
    259439EB-172E-4A1B-BE64-0DC0AF0AAE6C.jpg

Said brace bit me hard when it came time to remove the coil, took some English to get that to let go, it looks nice and roomy but it’s cramped and not easy to get room (the reason I used power tool to begin with)
    79BC5493-7E1E-4164-857E-AFBCE1D1F61E.jpg

    Handy lil add ons

My older brother got me a really nice 308 piece craftsman toolset for Christmas, and I have nowhere to put all the stuff. I just have open shelves in my garage, so I was thinking of getting one of those rolling tool cabinet situations that I’m seeing a ton of in this thread. Without reading all 286 pages…does anyone have any suggestions for a first nice tool organization setup? Not looking to break the bank but would go for something well made that will last. I like the red look of craftsman…any reason I shouldn’t stay on brand? Something like this maybe? would love feedback from my taco brethren.
