Not talking a small set like you did...talking 50 plus for just SAE...probably closer to 100 plus for metric (i do lot more metric stuff these days). Plus multiples of the same size just in different types of taps.

    Definitely not my handy work.
Came with a master tap set purchased many years ago.

Thats actually what I have now. Nothing wrong with it really other than the layout. I like things in order...so the 1/4-20 then next 1/4-28 ect. But I have a ton of say 3/8-16 taps that need the bigger ones.

I should have just bought the Lista cabinet the other day i was looking at. I just got annoyed since it was a local place but they wouldnt let me pick it up and wanted ot charge freight

Lista boxes are awesome! Expensive though. Built to last forever. You get what you pay for for sure

Yes they are! Whats sad is work has been doing cleaning/updating and has been just scraping tons of lista/vidmar cabinets. So i get to walk past ones just sitting empty out in the rain most days. If they werent on scheduled pick ups an dhad paperwork attached to them I'd try to sneak one or two away lol.

Not really though cause if caught would be big trouble (who stealing government property thing)

That's what drives the price of a government bought screwdriver to $4,500...

In other fields maybe. We pay exactly what you pay (or me) for tools minus some custom stuff thats built in house. Some stuff might be cheaper but just cause we will buy in bulk (ie buying 1000 9/16" sockets at a time)

What’s your guys pick on favorite ratcheting screwdriver. Or are they even worth it? I’ve got a set of cheap harbor freight screwdrivers.

Wanting the luxury of ratcheting sounds nice, unless it’s more of a pain?

    Milwaukee
    Dewalt
    Husky
    Klein
    Kobalt

Sure there are others, Kobalts look really nice though.

    Help me out

I've got a Kobalt that does everything I ask of it. However I usually use the battery powered Dewalt for most screwdriver applications.

I used the Milwaukee’s at work every day for almost 18 months. Had to to warranty them out (which is super easy) 3 times because eventually the ratcheting gear would get kind of gritty feeling and it would drag, so it would sometimes loosen screws as I ratcheted. I had both the full size and the stubby.

I upgraded to another brand which has been awesome, but the Milwaukee wasn’t bad. I like the bit storage and the bits are pretty great.

Used the M12 cutoff yesterday for the second time, but used it most of the day. It was awesome.

Used half of a single 3.0 XC battery.

Unless it’s powered, I think ratcheting screwdrivers are basically worthless. Use the variable trigger on a good impact or hand. That said, my Klein is one of my favorite screwdrivers and it doesn’t brake the bank.

Ratcheting is great for confined space work.

I’m 6’7” and have large hands.. sometimes all I have room for is a screwdriver, and not having to change my grip on the handle while I fuck around with a fastener is great.

I’ve used them daily for 2 years now.
