Think of your back. I don't bend over for shit anymore.

Do I need to post more pics of mine being used for things other than vehicles?

    Nice...
mine is 22'x22'x8'. The lack of height is what I find tough to deal with.
I would like to be able to make it higher, but I believe it would be cost prohibitive...

For those with normal garage heights, this is a good unit.

I very seldom have a car on my lift and have it lifted to its full height. 90% of the work is done with the truck at waist height.[IMG]

Alright folks, I could use some advice. Since @T4RFTMFW started this thread my questions are entirely his fault! Nah, seriously, simple question.

Background: I decided to roll up my sleeves and start doing my own maintenance again because I’m tired of either sitting at the dealer forever and/or dropping it off at night and, well you you get it, taking too much time only for someone to not do or halfway do what I paid for. So, I bought all the tools and supplies I needed (or so I thought) except I realized my torque wrench and breaker bar are 1/2” when virtually all my sockets are 3/8”. Almost all my tools were Kobalt and I’ve found they are not as good as they used to be but OK enough. I also saw that Lowes is getting rid of that brand in favor of Craftsman.

I got a Tekton torque wrench and breaker bar and it seems fine so far but I’m looking for a good set of deep and shallow 1/2” sockets that are reasonable in price. For the deep sockets I want some that won’t screw up my lug nuts for my Rays (if I ever actually get them out of the box and put them on my new Falkens that have been sitting in my garage for 4 months). I’m not looking to get in too deep with investing in tools but also want something decent/good and priced well that will last so I can maintain our 6 vehicles.

Sorry for the long drawn out background when I could have asked this in one sentence.....lol

If you keep your eyes open you can pick up these above ground lifts for $800-$1000.
look for big auto centers like Kmart or places like that they close the shops and sell off the equiptment cheap.

    Wrong.

This never works out. You buy it for $800 and you have to pay someone to dismantle and assemble it at your shop because they only give you 1 day to take it apart. It's never the day you have free.

I looked for 3 years. I came across 4 lifts that we're clapped out and had no documentation and/or missing parts.

Much, much less hassle to buy new.

Harbor Freight has impact sockets that are tough and a great price.

I've never broke one and I beat the shit out of my hf sockets.
