    The whole stretch where I was above 22 mpg and hit 25 twice was on Canadian Highways 11 and 17 from Thunder Bay, Ontario down to Sault Saint Marie and then over to Ottawa and then US Highways 11 and 2 through northern NY, Vermont, and New Hampshire. Basically all 2 lane roads with 55 mph speed limits and no mountain passes. Through these sections I never got above 65 mph and averaged about 58 mph and made very few stops because it was raining for 3 days straight.

    I do have an Excel file with the numbers but I don't see a way to attach them to a TW PM. If you PM me an email address I'll send them out. I also have a set of numbers for my Colorado trip this Christmas so I'll send them as well.

    Looks like Canada has engineered a great streach of road getting that mpg!....California take note!..Our brothers to the north are on to something!

    I got close to 25 myself coming down out of mountains from New Mexico to Texas. I was running around 80 the whole time, but it is predominantly downhill. Higher octane fuel yields better mileage for me... I get what is typical of the V6 4X4. Love my truck. :D

    Most of you live in the flats (LA, Florida, SC ...). Try running in the mountains consistently. My house to the ski hill is 16 miles and 4000' gain. I have been tracking for a little while and I am averaging 15 mpg with a 2009 Quad cab, 6sp manual, V6. I am using 10% ethanol year a round, so that is probably hurting things. Elevations starting at 3000' probably also hurt things. I also looked up the stock tires, BF Goodrich - Rugged Trail T/A - 265/70R16 on Consumer Reports. These tires do not report very well for on road use, braking, braking on ice etc. These tires also have just average rolling friction numbers.

    I am wondering if anyone has compared their mileage before and after tire changes?

    Also has anyone actually improved their gas mileage by paying attention to something like the ScanGauge II?
