Just take it out of gear if the truck goes crazy. Sure the Tacoma is going to be fine.

Don't think of it as a sticking accelerator, think of it as FREE cruise control :D

In all seriousness though, the Taco's have not had this issue. Buy one and sleep soundly knowing it will well outlast the crap the big three U.S. auto makers are serving up.

My 2009 4x4 2.7 5 speed Access cab "sticks" If you are driving along in 5th gear and turning over 2500 rpms and let off the gas it holds it's speed for about 5 seconds or maybe a bit more? ( No cruise control) If you let off the gas and press the clutch in the rpms will rise briefly then go down. Had it back to the dealer but they said they couldn't reproduce the problem so I need to go back and take a tech for a ride and show them. Haven't had time for that. I don't drive it much, got it in August 2009 and I think it has 4500 miles on it now. Hopefully I will have some time in the next few weeks to go back and take someone for a ride in it.

The Tacoma has been the best selling pickup in its class forever. Don't be fooled by the press. The Tacoma is still the best pickup in its class, period.
It is rare when Toyota offers any kind of real deal and there is no better time than now to buy one. You won't regret it.

I just bought a 2010 Tacoma and love it. Not worried a bit about the gas pedal or anything else. Toyota's reputation hasn't taken a hit with me!

Make sure you order blue tooth, so you can call 911 if your pedal sticks.

    How stupid can people be???
I think people are looking for an easy payout from Toyota. Funny how this isn't as much of a a problem outside the US!

    :D

That is not the throttle sticking. That is a known normal part of the 5/6 speed Tacomas. It is part of emissions.

Wonder if I could get out of a speeding ticket by saying my truck took off on me and made me weave through traffic @ 90mph...
