So people don't run out of gas, you still have 3+ gallons.

Always divide by the gallons you put in, not what you think the tank holds. MPG 101. ;)

Yes, thats what i do. I can usually get about 16 gallons in it and i can go about 315 to 320 before i feel like i have to get gas. 320\16 is 20mpg. :D

Does the gas gauge bother anyone else? I don't like how our quarter marks are at more like an eigth. And the second half of a tank always goes way faster, but that's pretty typical of most vehicles I've seen

quite typical for gas mileage to diminish after half a tank. the gas evaporates quicker. but yes the gauge is frustrating the quarter tank is a joke I can get maybe 30 or 40 city miles on a "quarter"

I have put over 18 gallons in my 2003 before. I like to risk it. Basically when the light turns on it can go another 45-50 miles roughly. When my needle gets just bellow my 'E' line that is usually when I head on in to fill up. Most of the time i still have anywhere from 3/4 gal to 1 gal to go by then. I also reset my trip odometer every time so I keep my eye on that more then the gauge needle. I have owned 5 or 6 s10's which are notorious for the gas gauge going bad so I have learned to watch the trip-odometer.

I have not ran out of fuel with this truck yet, but at least 3/4 of all my vehicles I have owned I have ran out of gas. I think i'm sitting in the 30-40 vehicles owned range too.

Well, the needle stops moving at 15 gallons. It's been like that forever. Once I bottomed the needle I knew I needed gas within 40 miles.

Yes, that first quarter lasts forever, then its alright for the first half, then it just goes quick. Also, when I fill up it goes above the highest mark, and if I run it down a bit it drops below E. I have no idiot light either!

Haha I call that top part "free miles"... I've gotten to 50 miles before the tank is even at full. I typically get like 150-160 miles to half then another 100 or so before I have to fill. My last tank was close to 270 I think which calculated to about 22 mpg (4 banger tank is smaller) I was satisfied :)
