    I dont think my issues are with the tensioner either. i suspect one of the idler pulleys is making the racket. They have a ton of surface rust on the faces of the pulleys so i can just imagine what the backs looks like. i just saw the whole package kit and figured may as well get all of it. I'll jump in your thread and do some reading before i pull the trigger, thanks!

    It is often suspected that it's the tensioner/idler pulley making the noise but too often it's just the belt. It's been speculated that the pulley's aern't in "perfect" alignment so the belt will squeal eventually.

    I switched to the Continental elite belt which was formally the goodyear gatorback and it's designed for this misaligned pulley issue. Fixed my problem 100%. Stock belt really started acting up at around 50,000 miles.
