Going to be a little while before i dig into this project but it's definitely on the list.

Keeping an eye on this. Here's some info on the steering pad switch assy. Looks like there's two connectors on the MFD equipped wheel so if a non-MFD truck has two receptacles then we can assume it's wired for the MFD switch assy. It looks like the steering pad (airbag) has to be removed to remove the switch assy. Who's digging in first? :boink:

Removing the airbag is no big deal.

Correct. Quite simple. Two plastic caps behind the wheel and two screws. Thieves have them out in 30 seconds lol. Then you don't even have to really remove or disconnect the airbag, just lean it forward and look in there to see the connector/wiring setup.
You could even put the switch matrix in there while you are in there I would think without even disconnecting it.
    The part number
    45116-04010
is correct for the right hand switch matrix ?

Available in black? Looks like this is the silver panel.

Left and right plastic panels on my steering wheel are black. Stereo controls on the left, blank on the right.

I believe the urethane wheel in the SR is the only one that has the black accents. Which is also the only setup that doesn't have the right hand controls. Looks like both sides would have to be swapped to silver.

I have seen SR's with only left hand controls in silver.

BTW I think that part 45116-04010 is only good for up to 2014 's.

That sucks, I hate the silver. I like everything being dark colored. Another reason I went with an SR over any other model. Money wasn't the issue, the simple dark look is the nicest in my opinion. The red interior panels and accents were a huge turn off on the TRD for me. I'd have both panels painted MGM to match the truck before installing them.

I'm looking in to whether this swap might trigger some faults and how they might show up. Based on what I see here, the cluster is checking in with the Entune system. All MFD clusters will expect to see Enture with nav while the base will not. The service lit doesn't specify whether it's just looking for something present or if there's specific messages being broadcasted (or in this case, not being broadcasted) due to not having radio with nav. That is, will the new cluster be happy even though the Entune is still base model?

Stereo shouldn't have anything to do with it. If it did, everyone with aftermarket stereos would have problems. At least in theory anyway.

Doesn't mean the radio needs to stay stock or be an entune system. You just won't get radio info on the cluster.

I will trade my Sport instrument cluster for an SR5 rear end that is not noisy.
