who says that its doesnt happen under don't ask don't tell?

So are we going to ban women because a minority of men in the military can't control themselves?

I'm not saying its going to be easy... but really, a gay can control himself just as much as a hetero.

The reason why we need to change is because the majority is infringing upon the rights of minority. It is the same thing as with racial desegragation within the military. Are you worried about whether or not you black "battle buddy" is smart enough not to shoot you, because black people, were labeled as slow and dim witted by the white majority... or fall asleep because he's lazy?

Not at all, but look at when women first joined compared to now. Everything will improve in time, its all about social norms. The change has already occurred. I can't imagine as an LT your that old, but talk to someone that was around for the desegregation process and get their thoughts on it. My point was merely a counter towards your comment that homosexuals would start harassing the nons. and you are right, who knows if it has happened? but the fact is, doing away with the current policy is not as simple as telling soldiers to get over it or grow up. I have no doubt the military will grow and evolve from this situation and in the future this won't be an issue.

So then why is it ok for you or the gay community to push your belief's on me my child or anyone else.No one wants to here the word god anymore but it ok to have to hear and see what everyone else wants me to see and believe.I think bigot where's a new mask.

I agree with you .. I feel that the only shit that should be segregated from the military, schools, work, etc... is religion and the god stuff... I feel that people's sexual orientation has nothing to do with whether they're a good person or their character. Homosexuals are living breathing human beings and deserve respect and I can say this cuz I was raised super religious and anti-gay and as I've gotten older and removed the brainwashing of my parents teachings and began thinking for myself, I see very clearly.. I would be way more concerned with christianity being shoved down my my throat and up my ass everywhere I look, including my workplace. Living in the midwest as a non christian leaves a person open to all the judgemental bible thumpers. religion, god, christ, allah, buddha, whatever god any certain faith or religion believes in, "does not exist" and "cannot be proven" and is just a continuation of each culture's ancient mythology stories passed on from generation to generation. anyway, sorry to venture off the gays in military subject but they are real people that exist and deserve everything everyone else has, nothing more, nothing less. and i would defend a gay person that was being ridiculed by some closed-minded, redneck bible thumper anyday...I'm as straight of a guy as you can get but I do have gay friends, both guys and girls and i definately fit in better with unique people like that better than your typical person who doesnt think for themselves....it also reminds me of a thread i started on tacomaworld regarding taking lots of shit from the closed minded rednecks here in missouri because i drive a tacoma and they drive ford, chevy , dodge and they try to get me pissed by ragging on my japanese brand truck and i gave up defending myself even though i never rag on their choice in brands and even though i know my yotas will most likely still be going long after their trucks are broken......
