I got this from Pennzoils website.
Is Toyota now recommending 5w20 or is 5w30 still the standard?
I've read a lot of threads here through searches and am still a little confused...
Thanks in advance for yet another oil question.

It depends on the Toyota engine you have. My 09 Tacoma 6 cyl requires 5W-30.

    My 10 Venza 4 cyl requires 5W-20 or 0W-30 (I'm pretty sure).

Best thing is what whippersnapper02 said. Go by your manual for the recommended oil. If want to deviate from the recommended oil take into consideration your driving habits and area of the country you live in. People that live in the constant heat of Arizona could have different needs that the UPers of Michigan.

Toyota is kinda confused on this too: there's a TSB that documents and allows use of 5w20 and 0w20 oils for certain engines. The TSB no. is EG018-06 so if you google it you should get some hits. Only use the oil that is spec'd ILSAC GF-4 or GF-5 compliant, you can tell that by looking for the API starburst on the bottle.

PZL Ultra is fantastic oil! I'd be pretty certain it is GF4 or 5. But the conventional? not so much.
