Miles clutch is starting to slip and I have ordered the UDR stage II clutch kit with upgraded TOB. His Tacoma has the UDR short throw kit and shifts smoothly. My question is should we have his gear oil replaced when the new clutch is installed and what gear oil recommendations?

Might as well while you’re under there. MT-90 would be my go too as well. Been using it in my toyota manual transmission vehicles for years. Much better shift feel in all of my applications.

don't forget the pump for the gallon jug

while UR at it...get a magnetic drain plug from Trail Toys

Then might as well drain/refill the front & rear diffs

I use Super Tech full synthetic for these....$7/quart

Let me ask this. Is the gear oil and the front and rear differential oil the same?

I definitely want to replace the gear oil w/ Redline. Can I use the same Redline MT90 in the front and rear differential?

Thank you everyone that has walked me through this.

You’d be better off throwing in some cheaper 75w-90 synthetic. Supertech or Delo for $7-8 per quart.

Go to the Redline website for recommendations. Click the "Find Products For My Vehicle," and they will tell you exactly what works in your truck.

    Red Line Synthetic Oil (redlineoil.com)

I have a 2008 which has a clutch type LSD, so I need GL-4 in my transmission, and GL-5 in my diff. The GL-5 has friction modifiers that work with the clutch discs, so I don't need to add an LSD additive.

Don't think you have a Clutch type LSD, so you probably don't need GL-5.
