What is the correct way of figuring out your rear gear ratio? I'm looking for my 97 Tacoma 3.4L 4x4 non abs...Thanks!

Ok I have stock 3:91 gears, I'm in the process of collecting parts to make my truck long travel. I was wondering if i should stick with this ratio. my truck is 4x4 , supercharged and running 33's. The truck sees 75% pavement, and 25% off road. Should I go lower ratio, like 4:56's?
    Thanks!

    4.56 would be ideal

Id go 4.88s. I have read a bit on this and ppl are usually much happier with 4.88s then 4.56s. Either one would be much better tho.

If I go to 4:88 do you get the power and mpg back that you lose from instaling 33" tires?

4.88s i believe are suppose to put you back closer to stock ratios. closer to 4.10 then 3.90 tho

i thought 4.56 with 33s would almost put him right on stock and 4.88 would be more power than stock?
