Congrats on the place. Always like those little Opals. I’ve lived in Europe a number of years, and they are certainly more common over there than here. Almost bought one in high school, but opted for the Datsun. The Opal always reminded me of a mini corvette.

I was gonna do the 2lo mod, but as i was testing the 4wd system, it failed to engage and it took me 10 min to get it rebooted and freed back up. That kinda made me stop trying to mod the drive system.

Hey all! I have poured through this thread. I'm looking at a travel trailer, WolfPup 18TO, 4999 lbs fully loaded, dry around 3800. I have crunched the numbers based on my family of four and extra gear, I'm on the fence if the 4999 lbs. might be stretching it? I've got the towing package and will be purchasing a brake controller and WDH. I live in Kansas City, and most of the campgrounds we are planning to stay at would be in the midwest area, we have the Ozarks, but no real mountains. On the other hand, we go to Colorado at least once a year and might consider dragging the trailer out there if feasible.

Do you still have the Apex Nano? Looking to get into a 213rds in a few months. If so, how’s it holding up and any recommendations on mods for it?

I adjusted my WDH hitch after this pic (this is when we brought it home) rides level with the camper being about 3800lbs, truck has about 400lbs of gears and people. Tows like a dream.. 10-12 mpg..

Perfect, nice set up! We've decided against the previous mentioned model. Looking at a couple Flagstaff Micro Lites, Keystone Passports, and your Apex model. Thanks for the response!

I did a lot of research while looked, Coachman uses a composite called Azdel in their Apex models with has a less then 1% chance of delamination, warping, bubbling because it doesn't hold water like wood backers. And it's an aluminum studded wall structure. They are amazing and we love ours!

The Azdel is what has me sold on the Apex Nano 213rds.

I literally watched a ton of videos on YouTube on what to look for on the PDI (Pre-Delivery-Inspection) I went to ours with tools and a flashlight and a ladder to check the roof. Have you bought yours yet? Also, I'm using the Harbor Freight WDH and love it. I also installed their electric 3500 lb. tongue jack.

I have not, planning to pick one up in January or February. I have watched about 1000 YouTube videos to the point they are running together in my mind:crazy:

That is the exact hitch & jack I was looking to pick up(assuming I can’t work them into the deal).

    Appreciate it!

I added a solar panel on the roof, besides that it's still stock. I hate the blue awning lights, so I still need to change that.

Do you guys mind sharing how much you paid for your Apex Nano's? I am just starting to look at buying a camper to pull with my Tacoma, and dont want to
    overpay.

Crappy photo, but in was pleased with my first time towing with this truck. Buggy and razor are roughly 1200 lbs each, pulled like a champ through Texas hill country averaging 14mpg.
