So I've been reading up on the HF Kinker (the air jack powered one). It seems that if you use 1 5/8'' tubing in the 1.5'' pipe die, you can get good results.

    Thoughts?

The kinker sucks and is a pain in the ass to use. Buy a real bender or make your own like I did and save yourself

^^^ he has the right idea. Fuck the kinker . You will spend more time trying to get it to work than it's worth. Either make yours or suck it up and buy one on c-list man. The deals are out there.

LOL x2 the only way to cut unless your cutting like 2.5" plate then the oxy would be my choice.

i would really suggest investing in a jig saw w/ metal blades, a small circular skil saw, and a saw-z-all before i suggest a oxy set up.. if you cant get it with one of those saws and a grinder, something is wrong. and those saws will cut way cleaner wasting less material. may take a little longer, but your pocket will thank you for not wasting as much.

The metal doesn't heat up and can be handled immediately. No bluing of the metal at the cut site either, but that's doesn't exactly matter if it's getting welded later anyway.

Should also be a bit cleaner as there's no abrasive particles coming off the blade during the cut.
