First one is 100% fake. Not sure on the others. If they are fakes they are good replicas. The thing that throws me off is one says it’s an auto set on the setting diagram but it doesn’t have an autoset faceplate. This is what a genuine miller autoset looks like

    FDCD5DBA-D7AE-4BA4-9EC9-41BC0F46F0E3.jpg

Not saying the 2nd or 3rd are fakes. I’d need to see them in person to be able to tell for sure. They look legit or close and I’ve owned 3 or the smaller millermatics (140,180,and 211)

A professional welder has a shop on my block - I think I'll go see if he has any good used machines he's trying to get rid of or knows about in the area. I definitely don't know what to look for at this stage.

Hey all will be looking at buying steel for a bumper n sliders for my 08. Made bumpers in the past but for 1 tons. I usually used 1/4 inch plate. Will the tacoma suport the weight or should I just use 1/4 Got the winch n recovery points. And thinner everywhere else.

I would use 1/4 for the winch, recovery points and mounts, 3/16 for places that might take some abuse, and 1/8 everywhere else

Had a fake Hobart. Biggest waste of money. Now I look harder for welders. Looking at a Miller or another Hobart. Need more power, and thinking about going dual volt. Currently have the handler 140.

Anyone know where I can source 1/4-3/16" thick washers with a 1/2" ID and at least a 1.5" OD? Looking to make the "barrel" part of this with the bolt through it:

Hey guys. I’m looking at getting a tubing bender to make a bed cage and bumpers. Can I get pretty intricate with the affordable bender or is something like a jd2 a better tool if I wanted to delve deeper into fabbing? I would like to stay under 1000 for everything needed to get started bending 1.75

Rogue fab is the bender I use. It’s a vertical style and requires a cart to set on to be mobile

Looks like it might be a good option for very occasional use, but the bend radius is pretty big on at 7” and you’re limited to 90° bends which will hold you back. You’ll probably have a hard time hitting your target without a degree wheel as well. If you plan on doing more than just those projects I’d suggest getting a JD2, Pro Tools, or Rogue Fab bender. All three of those would be easy to sell if ever wanted to get rid of it.
