Not sure what exactly you are trying to achieve, but it sounds like you need a tube roller with the correct dyes.

Aluminum angle doesn't bend all that well. It's extruded which also makes it a bit thicker at the intersection (and more resistant to bending).

Here's something that describes a method for softening and bending aluminum angle stock.

    Good luck!

we have a 3/8" thick steel work table in our shop that we have it bolted directly to. Works really nice. I would build some sort of stand for it if I were you.

The way that this piece sits, I want to bend it up if that makes sense. Yes I know that is not aluminum

If you read the link, it's got some hints how to do that. At least for things like angle stock as a trim piece.

LMK and I can bring it whenever I'm visiting

Looks like I still have enough scrap 1/4" wall square tubing from building my bumper that I could use. Hoping I can make a stand that I can take down and store if I need to. I don't want to bolt it to the floor if I don't have to.

If you convert it to hydro, you won't have to. If you can't, you'll need to secure it to something and wheel locks probably don't count for much ;)

You can always take the bolts out and move it around too.

I converted my JD2 to hydraulic for about $180 from the stuff from Swag off road and a harbor freight jack. It is well worth it

    45acp, is yours a model 32?

I ordered it, as I was hoping to use 1.66"OD .14" wall A-500 ERW pipe as a substitute to DOM tube because of the price. If DOM is a must over the A-500 for a roll cage, I can get another die for that and the 1.66" should be more than enough for tubing the back end.

It's a model 32. I may hydro it at some point, but I don't have a compressor yet.

I would not use anything with the word pipe for a roll cage over your head. Almost all sanctioning bodies of racing require either DOM or Chromoly tubing for specific reasons. You may not be racing and maybe doing an exo (?) but I still wouldn't even use HREW tubing for a roll cage

If you're not getting it tagged it can be designed just as strong with structural pipe as with dom. Period. Proper engineering sometimes requires designing around whats on hand and whats available. Codes are followed where applicable.

Not getting tagged or racing=no governing body or "code" to follow.
