no problem man. by far the best notcher is a pro tools notcher. i know they are expensive and not in a lot of budgets, shit it wasnt in mine, but it was money well spent and i would never look back.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
I have the JD-2 BEAST notcher and I love it but I have had some funky angled notches and it's hard to eyeball those. So i figured the PipeMaster's would help out on the funky notched but I did some reading and everyone seams to think the way you do so i cancelled the order.

Funny thing -- my fabricator uses a drill press for tube notching. Obviously it requires a clamp to hold the tube and a fair bit of experience to get the angles right on the first try but he says it gives him the greatest flexibility with the benefit of not having to buy another tool. Seems to work well for him. :)

oh thats a tits notcher too. the one thing i did to make sure my notches were always centered and straight was center everything with a dial caliper. if you get the actual hole saw shaft dead even to the center height of the tube, it tends to have perfect notches every time... yes it take a bit longer, but less wasted tube = less wasted money.

JMR Manual bender with a air over Hydro conversion.

I've done that in the past.

Good tip it's a pain to get dead center by eye and the BEAST is off a little you need to fine the center because the 0 mark is not centered.

http://www.vansantent.com/tube_bending_machines.htm is the place to go I did buy mine directly form JMR but VanSant is great.

The best bang for your buck would be the JD2 Model 3 or the JMR sportsmen (Not sold by VanSant)

And another thing if you ever plan on bending .25+ wall tube get the JMR manual bender, JD2 Model 32 or Pro Tools 105(HD) they all handle thick wall tube great.

DO NOT BUY A BENDER NEW! hunt craigslist or race dezert. i picked up my bender with a die and full hyrdo system with stand and all for 600. you can find KILLER deals on lightly used shit. people purchase thinking they will make their money back on it in no time with little to no effort.. and sadly... that isnt true in this sport.

just one. 1.5 die. but i picked up a 1.75 die as well so ive got both sizes. under 1k into a full hydro bender with 2 dies and a stand... not bad in my book hahaha. just proves that those deals are out there. you may want to try www.dailylister.com. its a national craigslist search engine. you can find all sorts of shit on there... just gotta convince them to ship the shit.

I'm always trolling the boards but have yet to come up with anything local. You guys out in the southwest have you pick of parts and tools. Here in the northeast that stuff is like gold. When something does come up for sale it's gone in minutes, and usually for more than the price of new since there are no shipping fees.

    Still, my search continues.
