I have a question for the fellow fabricators here. How much offset is the rear shackle hanger from the frame? I'm building some new inverted shackle hangers and I calculated 2 inches of offset. Also how low should I make them. I'm thinking about 6 inch hang down.

thats a very broad question. what do you mean by offset? and where did you get the magical number of 6 inches? is that one of those outta thin air numbers?

Offset meaning the new tacoma frames dovetail behind the cab so the front hangers would be derectly under the frame but the shackles would have to be "offset" out to the sides. He's prob be sairing at pictures of DMZ's work and noticed the shackles hang about 6" below the frame rails

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.
Well sheet  If i would of seen that a few months ago I would of got that and not the JD2 Beast.

I like the clamp on that one. The beast will catch a tooth notching in a bend moving the tube and tweak the hole saw or rip off teeth.

I try to keep the guesstimations to a minimum as well. I think he should measure the with of the frame at the new hanger location then build the shackle mounts to match. I was told it is good to make the shackle mounts slighlty wider than the hangers like / \ but not much. I wonder if the 52.5" rules still applies for these trucks.

    <3

The method that works best for me is have a buddy hold one end while my notch master is clamped on the bend lol then fine tune with flap wheel

LOL that works I'm thinking of fabricating a V grove for the beast that attaches like the clamps so the dam tube don't move.
