Yea, I guess that's the right answer. I'll take a micrometer and measure to where it needs to be center punched.

Was hoping for that miracle easy way lol.

The notchmaster is sweet! I have the JMR raceline and its nice but billet aluminum and cost a little more. Im going to upgrade to all steel next time around, hopefully Baileigh TN-250. Used it in the past and has less limitations on radius cuts then other models.

I love my bend tech software, I can only imagine how much more effiecient it is with the dragon

Can you notch on a radius tube Or will you still have to use a traditional notcher?

I'm sure you would have to use a traditional nothcer for that. I'm sure it could do it on a small radius but you would have to have the tube long enough to fit in the indexer before the radius.

So I decided I need a notcher since the chop saw method doesn't seem to work for me unless doin a 90* notch. I really like the TN-250, does anyone have any opinions on a good one for a garage fab wannabe?

I've been pleased with the small amount of use I've gotten out of the Rogue Fab notcher. Works great in the garage.

I've got the TN250 for our notching, it's great for the time we've had it. Really like the 3-jaw vise on it to hold tube, even in a bend which is nice. Plus you can notch with a full 210deg of adjustment side to side which is better than most

The JD squared notch master is a good unit as well. Versatile and durable. I'm more than likely going to be picking one up here soon and getting rid of my ProTools notcher

I use the JMR. you cant offset notch.. with the TN-250 you can offset. I think the notch master does too. the locking jaw is designed well and heavy duty. as @RelentlessFab mentioned you can lock the tube in a bend which is nice. I will be definitely going back the 250 in the future.

My thoughts for notching in the future is that the TN-250 is a great stepping stone notcher that will always have a place in my shop. If/when I need to volume notch more parts I'll look into an endmill notcher, or possibly a CNC plasma tube cutter but there will always be times that there are those tough to get at notches where the TN-250 will get pulled out and used with its outright versatility to notch just about any tube I need.

The notch master realistically is probably all I need, then I'd have left over cash for bend tech pro. Thanks guys

Wow lots of pages about machines I know nothing about lol but looks like lots of fabricators so I bet I can get a question answered here. May be a little lengthy post I will try to keep short.

I just had my sbdc lifted, not much but I wanted the look. Now I find that after 8 surgeries I'm having a little trouble getting in the truck..... So here's what I'm wondering, is there a way to make some sliders that drop down lower than normal sliders but not as low as say the Nfab steps? Or maybe a slider that has a dip in the outside bar at each door? That may still look cool. Or just some that would just drop the whole slider down at a lower angle. I know I could get step bars or running boards but I hate the look of them.
