I have some interest already in my 30 XP. I just can't get rid of it until I come across an upgrade. It's only money, right? Lol

    hello fabricators,

as an industrial pipe welder, i feel fairly confident in my ability to fit up and weld my own bumpers and sliders and such. I figure it will be more expensive than paying retail but maybe i'll turn out a few for neighbors and make up some investment. my question is why do most fabricators build out of 1 3/4? why not 2 inch DOM? my model 3 is manual only, is bending 2 inch .120 a pain in the ass? I only have up to 1 1/2 dies and I don't want to buy every 300$ set of dies. is 2 inch over kill?

2" is great for the main hoop, and roll cages. 1 3/4" is mostly just a personal preference

2" is actually required for main hoops n stuff in certain race classes, 1.75 is just the norm for most stuff, little smaller little easier to fit around stuff but still realllly strong, and the availability of 1.75 is much higher cause most fab shops have it on hand, which is convenient

Got some new sliders finished up. Just need to get some paint on them and welded to the truck.

Plasma cutting question..... I have a plate bumper mounted and finished on truck. It came with round cut outs which I intend the use. My question is....can a plasma cutter be used on a mounted bumper to cut square mounting holes for surface mount Rigids? Note: I have it bed lined with FMJ Bedliner which I'd like do have minimal damage on. Can this be done ? Please excuse my ignorance on this lol. EK
