I'm debating the purchase of a Tacoma Bed Mat.

I live in southern Louisiana, where the humidity is a real B-otch. Has anyone that owns a genuine Toyota bed mat noticed any long-term, adverse effects from its use? I know they are designed to promote airflow and prevent mildew/mold between the actual bed and the mat, but I'm still hesitant about the purchase. I have a tonneau cover as well, which I think would only make things worse being closed all the time.

    Any perspective would help, thanks.

I have the mat and a tonneau cover closed 90% of the time with no adverse effects so far. Haven't owned the mat very long yet though.

I have had a bed mat since day 1 (just over a year now) and had a Tonneau cover on as well.

Every time I pull the mat to clean the truck, I notice nothing abnormal. But then again, I don't live in a real humid climate.

I don't know about that other stuff but you'll buy one when you get sick of your stuff sliding around.

I have the mat and I love it. There are grooves in your bed that make for good air flow. If you really want to maximize air flow, you can always just drill holes into your mat.

Only thing I've had happen is the Bed star nuts are now rusted .. a few of them... looks like dissimilar metal rust to me tho! Not related to the bed mat. Put bed mat back in and problem solved.

Best upgrade I've done to my truck.

I have one in Phoenix AZ, hotter than anywhere else in the country and I park outside much of the time. It has held up fine.

Loving mine. A rubber mat is a must for our plastic beds...

I love it, stops everything from moving around, and protects the bottom of the bed.

    no problems so far.
love it, and standing up to the extreme cold in central - northern ontario.

Off topic but actually very pleased how the truck is performing in the cold. Talking -25C without the wind -40C with where the cottage is.

I'm in humid as fuck Charleston SC and zero issues. The grooves in the bed probably prevent any mildew

My factory bed mats have held up great year after year from snow and cold to hot and humid and everything in between, well worth the cost.

Are people using the Bed Mats without a tonneau cover or any cover? Ever think people would steal the bed mat if I had it with no cover?

I removed my bed mat from my 2009 Tacoma and put it in my new 2017 Tacoma,so the mat is 8 years old. I live in Little Rock (sultry here a lot) and the truck is mostly garaged. Neither the bed nor the mat showed any signs of deterioration. The only noticeable effect was that the bed bolt heads were slightly (and partly) corroded. I believe it will not be a problem at all. Go for it.

No, I don't think it will get stolen. It's not very noticeable to the untrained eye

I have a tonneau cover plus the oem bed mat, no issues with the combo. I did notice that its a rubberized mat and so it doesnt allow for you to push/pull things around on the bed.
