2.5 years here in SoCal, no cover, no bolts, no security. It's still here. I have dumped rock, dirt, mulch, appliances, and scrap metal on mine with no damage. Bed mat looks great! It's now on my 2017. Love my bed mat!

Love my bed mat. Keeps stuff from sliding around and generally looks good. Not worried about someone stealing it, they'd probably steal the whole truck before thinking about a bed mat. Unless it's some non-TW Tacoma owner......:spy:

Summer humidity couldn't get much worse. Bed mat has always been under a fiberglass bed cover. Never any issues.

I'll bet most people wouldn't even notice the bed mat since it blends in so well. And if someone tries to steal it they'd better be strong . . . those mats pack some weight.

Also they are not in great demand by the local crackheads.

I had mine since day one in my '07 long bed, no cover and never garaged. No problems whatsoever. Pulled it out, cut off a foot, and installed it in my '16 Limited with a cover. I think it will last forever!

I live in the same general area as you. My truck will be be 4 weeks old tomorrow, so still new. My OEM bed mat is just about 2 weeks old, so still really new. I have the OEM tonneau cover, and I do get some water in our sub-tropical rains. So far though I love the bed mat and haven't had any issues with it. I also have the OEM cargo divider and I like it, but it does require careful positioning to clear the tonneau cover latches.

I bought the OEM bed mat a week after buying my truck. Very sturdy build, it does keep stuff from shifting around, but it does have a very strong "old tire" smell, that didn't seem to fade due to the tonneau cover. But after seeing the BedRug in person, and talking with a friend who has the BedRug, I went with BedRug. Love the full carpeted look, and with the tonneau cover makes it a huge carpeted trunk. All depends on what you want to carry back there.

I've had my bed mat for a couple of months with no problems. I got it because my bed cover leaks some around the front corners and around the sides. With the mat I am hoping the water comes down and runs under the mat and out the back, so the things on top of the mat will stay dry. So far so good, but haven't had it out in the rain a lot to test it yet.

Bedmat is fine. I take mine out after tree pollen season (here in Charlotte)- to clean the bed and the mat itself. The pollen WILL get trapped underneath- and potentially clog one of the drain holes close to the cab.

Yes, any water that leaks in from the sides will go under the mat and your stuff stays dry. Drove my truck from NC to DE for Christmas, pouring rain the whole trip. My cover only leaks a small dribble or two in high speed driving (doesn't seem to around town), but it did go under the mat in the channels in the bed.

Mine sits outside in the uncovered bed through the wet Seattle fall, winter and spring. I spray it with the pressure washer once a year to get the accumulated mildew, pollen and general grime off of it. I fold it in half across the width (front than back) to pressure wash the bed underneath it.

I had a problem this past summer. Ash Whiteflies had taken residence in the back of my truck. I think they might be attracted to the bed mat. I had parked under a big Black Walnut tree and a few weeks later noticed these white spots in the back all over the bed mat. When parked in shady areas these little whiteflies were fluttering all around my truck, they look kinda like ashes from a fire (hence the name of the fly). I am hoping that this winter was too cold for them and they go away but it looks to me like they are attracted to the bed mat for some reason.

I live in Portland, OR and coincidentally found this article in OregonLive.

I wouldn't see much of an issue with it. Just clean out your bed once or twice a year. I have factory bed mat and factory hard tonneau cover on mine, 1 week old now... I did have a good bit of water on my bed last week, dealership put the tonneau cover on crooked.
