Ive seen a few people mention the possibility of putting new coilovers and control arms on a 4inch lift which would be the best of both worlds when it comes to ground clearance and still having 6 inches of lift IMO.

But has anyone actually tried this? Im seriously considering this setup for my truck with either a BDS or RCD lift and some FOX shocks to fit 35s.

Is this doable? If anyone has a similar set-up please post pics.

    35s are possible with a 3" lift. Are you a 4x4?

One of the 6" drop brackets out there works like that and is advertised as a 6" kit. Don't ask me what brand though.

The only time I've seen anyone fit 35s without a DB is with LT and I have no wheres near enough money for that.

I'm also trying to avoid crazy CV angles

You can do the 6" like you said as long as you can find the right coilovers.

Sure, it can be done. I have not done it, but I've built enough suspensions to know it would work fine.
The RCD lift comes with longer Bilstein 5100s, but use factory coils, so all you would have to do is use some coils such as OME 884s and you would gain some height without stressing the CV angles too much.

I have 35s and a 3" Icon lift. It's doable with some cutting.

I maybe have 1.5" showing but I also have 700# coils due to the bumper, winch and full skids.

90% of 4" drop bracket kits use the same drop bracket as their 6". They just dont supply the pre-load spacer for the 4" kits. RCD is is around 5" and from what I've seen and read you dont not want to modify it otherwise your cv angles will look like a 3" lift. So to answer your question yes, you can achieve 6" from a 4" kit. Nothing different between the two...

I think I'm just going to go with a 6" BDS or Zone lift and get some king or icon shocks later on. From what I understand they're the same thing but Zone is cheaper.

BDS for the win! Check my old build for what I ran with my BDS. Setup was bullet proof and worked really well regardless what anyone days about drop brackets on here

I've finally decided on a 3" lift but I can't decide what shocks to go with. My main priority is minimal maintenance. Second, Im looking for a smooth ride. I'm trying to decide between the OME kit, toytec ultimate kit, and the boss kit with 2.0s. I know everyone pushes the expensive coilovers but I have zero time to take them off every few years for a rebuild otherwise I'd get fox shocks or Icons.
