Managed to snag one last night. This will work perfect with my GFC platform topper that I also ordered, won’t get that one until January though.

The GFC Topper is a solid, lightweight option (and probably very secure, given that there's no windows), but, coming from a Softopper, I want to be able to remove the Superlite and use the bed for truck stuff.

As a result, I'm looking at Leitner or Yakima Overhaul with Decked, or the Overhaul on a Retrax. I like the idea of Decked, but it weighs 225lbs on a 6' bed. I also like the idea of the Retrax, but I'm not sold on the offroad durability of mounting a rack and RTT to the tonneau rails because every review out there seems to be on a truck that spends more time at the mall than on a rough trail. The Yakima seems like a good choice because it's light (55 lbs?) and you can adjust the height so that it's very low compared to a Leitner or a shell.

I want to be able to do the same, I’m looking into the GFC Chase Frame. I emailed GFC yesterday to see if they have any available to ship as their site states first units shipping late summer ‘22 but looks like their still taking deposits. Otherwise I’m thinking of using the Yakima Overhaul bars until I can get a chase frame.

I'm thinking along similar lines. I plan on mounting to my Rola Haul-Your-Might rack at least initially. I may need to make some kind of side bar/support plate between the front and rear to provide some stiffness.
Like you I want to keep it modular and removable for hauling big items when needed.

I ended up cancelling my order this morning after marinating on it this weekend while camping in the snow. When you factor in the cost of mounting and secure storage, it simply doesn't check enough boxes for me.

I was in total agreement with both of you until I changed the orientation of the poles. The velcro straps were actually long enough when I had the wider section on the bottom. However, this puts the cam lock higher up on the pole, which may be an issue for height-challenged individuals.

You may want to check and see if this may be your issue, too.

The only downside to this tent is the damn poles. I really wished they were hydraulic.

For me the only downside is that the fabric exterior will eventually break down from UV damage. Def not a hardshell, idk why they market it that way.
I’ve been applying the aerospace 303 UV spray but may order a custom cover.

I heard on the GFC forum that they sell replacement covers.

I mean it's certainly a hardshell but it is kinda a bummer it has fabric over it. GFC does sell replacement outer fabric for $650 and they do state that the fabric is a consumable and not something to be expected to last the life of the tent.

I've only set mine up twice so far and once was on the garage floor. I'm sure it will get easier once I've done it a few more times.
I was thinking I might mark the poles in some way at the correct extension and extend them to that before lifting up the top part. Dunno, I need to play around and find what works best.

It is kinda a pain. Also when you realize that you need to flip the poles over so the beefier side is at the bottom. Otherwise the Velcro straps don’t fit around the poles. But what I have done is access the pole on the passenger side, prop it up then climb into the tent to get them both propped up before opening them all the way. Takes about 5 minutes. Not as easy as a hydraulic strut for sure but it’s not too bad.

Does anyone have suggestions for outfitting the interior of the Superlite?
I'm wondering what peeps are using for lights, iPad holders, interesting ideas, etc.

One of my main complaints about the SuperLite is that wasn't designed to mount accessories on top of it. Other than a flexible solar panel, there's very few things that can be mounted over the SuperLite.

As a result, I haven't been able to take my kayak out. I finally figured out a way to mount my kayak racks without touching the SuperLite! This setup will now enable me to go on trips with my kayak in tow.

Here's a link to the write up in the "How are you mounting your kayaks" thread.
