I installed a Gibson stainless exhaust this weekend. I can't be more pleased. Big thanks to several on this forum that posted their thoughts and some video clips of their Gibsons to help me decide.

I was looking to add a little low tone growl with NO drone and I was desperate to avoid the "bees in a can" sound I have heard from some Tacoma exhausts. The Gibson has a nice little low grumble at start up and then basically goes unnoticed from the cab during normal driving. It has a nice tone when you really hit the throttle, yet its still not overpowering.

It was just what I was looking for. If you want something really loud or head turning, the Gibson isn't for you, but if you are looking for something like I was you should add Gibson to your list.

That sounds promising, I just took the borla cat back off my truck after only a week. The cab drone was unbearable in 1st through 4th gear at 1500-2000 rpms which is most of my driving. How is the Gibson in that range?

I don't notice it at all in the range. To me it's pretty much like the stock exhaust in the cab 1500-2000 rpms.

Same results from the the Gibson aluminized cat back just installed on my 08 RC 2.7l. Different at idle/startup and at higher rpms but about same as oem in normal driving range. No drone on hwy. Seems to breath easier, less stuffy feeling. Not sure drive cycle complete from resetting ecu while installing and haven't done tank yet to see any mpg changes. Thought it would be louder with LCE header but wasn't the case.

Any opinions on aluminized vs stainless? I live in the north east where they use that chemical road liquid in the winter so im guessing aluminized isnt for me? i always do love saving $100 though...

Yes, I live in salt-free winter zone and truck is in garage at home and at work so I went ahead with aluminized. No issues............
