Just got a 2021 SR nothing fancy its my go to work, and fishing vehicle. Had to retire my Jeep commander.

I bought it because I got a deal and just wanted a small truck, but this thing in 200 miles is really growing on me. Already looking at maybe 2 or 3 years down the line trading in for a TRD.

Anyways have already learned a lot, going to get some Ultraterrians this week hopefully, and do a leveling kit when I get a chance.

Hopefully I can help out along the way here as well, lifelong master diesel tech have built over 22 custom jeep and truck builds in MN. Now to start my first Taco!!!

Welcome to TW. I know exactly how you feel. My first car (ever) was a new 1986 POS Dodge D100 pickup. That soured me on any Chrysler product, and almost soured me on pickups. I was going to give Chrysler one more shot, so I started looking at Wranglers. I wanted a "bare bones" Jeep with a 6-banger. The only ones they had on the lot were 4-banger, and all of them had every possible option running the price through the roof. I drove one, and it barely got out of it's way on the highway. Lets just say I wasn't impressed.

On my way home, I decided to stop at the Toyota dealer and look at their small trucks. I was sold 2 minutes into my "test drive." It was everything the Dodge wasn't...fairly quiet, reliable, good fuel economy, etc. It was one of their previous year's trucks, and they sold it for $200 over invoice to get it off the lot. It was one of, if not the best vehicle I've ever owned. It was killed in 2008, so I went to my local Toyota dealer and bought a 2008 Tacoma X-Runner. It has also been a phenomenally reliable machine. The only mechanical failure so far (knock on wood) was a brake light bulb. It has a few quirks, such as a spongy brake pedal (from the factory), and a squeaky clutch pedal, but overall it's another great vehicle.

I'm a BMW CCA member, and if I ever want a "higher end" automobile, I'm shopping Lexus. When asked what BMW people should buy, I recommend Lexus to them too...lol Now if they're looking for something for track and street use, I point them to BMW's "M-cars." But if they never intent to hit the track, just buy a Toyota/Lexus. (Honda/Acura would be my next recommendation.)
