any advice on tinting factory windows? i'm on the fence as to pull the trigger & get them darkened. have it tenitively sch. for next week to get em done. then I look at the truck & say, nah, its fine the way it is, even tho I think the darker is better. I know this sounds trivial. any suggestions? I am getting a good price for the two rear sides & back for $150 from a rep. installer

i had dark tinted windows on a station wagon a coulpe years ago, HATED driving at night, was very hard to judge distances of cars in the 'blind zones' on either side. the rear window and access doors of my gen2 are tinted already from the factory, thats not so bad, as they aren't super-dark.

As leftcoast said night driving is harder but you adjust/get used to it.

I had my shop do lighter in the back over the privacy glass and darker on the front. They matched it pretty well.

I tinted my front windows to 20% to match the back. I'm glad i have a back up camra or I would have to put the windows down to back up at night.

I've had mine tinted in the past...Finally decided it wasn't worth it to try and look cool when I couldn't see out at night...especially in the rain....took it off.

Truck looks better, keeps valueables safer, keeps interior cooler, gets rid of the "fish bowl" effect.
I've tinted everything I've ever driven. It's a little harder to see at night but you adapt. In my book the pros outweigh the cons.
Just get them tinted pretty dark, give it a few months you can always remove it later

I believe it's ceramic but I'm not sure to be honest. I work at a dealer and we have a company that tints cars for us. We get personal cars tinted at cost. I just tell him how dark I want it and they take it and drop it back off by the end of the day with a lifetime warranty.

oh, do check your state laws too... for example, in California, tinting the front door windows and windshield is illegal, and the CHP *will* stop cars with dark tinted front windows.

another thing, that wagon which I dark tinted the rear windows, my kids hated the cave effect it put the back seats in.

You can tint but only as low as 70%in CA.

Ive had 40% tint all around and in one car 50% and even a cop who pulled me over for something else didn't even say a word and he was a jerk.

They like to stop people to "fish" for other things they can bust you.
