Think you're kinda comparing apples and oranges man. To answer your question though, I'd go with a kimber solo if you want a carry gun. I like kimber and I like the 9mm.

glock 26 all the way the only reason i would buy a kimber would be to take to the range thats it i would never want to depend on one but, thats just me i guess.

if i was looking into a 1911 i would go with wilson combat or nighthawk period more than likely nighthawk. i have seen handled and shot one and it was freaking awesome beautiful.

but i have more than a few glocks in my time and they always go boom they just inspire confidence in me that few other firearms do. i also like fn and h&k both excellent as well.

i would go with a GLOCK 26 over kimber. if it fits you’r hand good. 1 reason more rounds. 2 it’s lighter. the only real wight you have is the slide, barrel and the ammo. 3, you probable never need customer service.

also if you do glock is freaking awesome btw. and for me they are just really dehorned simple rugged and easy to carry the 26 would be an excellent ccw option as would the g36 .45 single stack.

god like i needed to rekindle the flame of an old addiction like firearms.

    get metal not plastic

I have shot a few kimbers and love them

But if you have the money to drop, get you a wilson combat

the trigger on the one that I have handled (not shot unfortunately for me) was better than some target rifle that I have shot

Weighed heavily on whether to comment here or not - and, as is obvious, decided to leave a brief comment. Glock v. Kimber...Toyota v. Nissan...Chocolate v. Vanilla...Blonde v. Brunette...this really does get into such a matter of personal preference and some of these sometimes, IMHO, get carried to extremes. I EDC a Kimber Stainless Ultra TLE - II and carry a Glock @ work. I carried a G22 for many years, now a G23, and own two G22's (one given to me when I retired from former Agency and one picked up as a good deal from a friend's son who wanted money for a Kimber). Selection of a weapon system is dependent on so many things - purpose, budget, training, and maybe on the bottom of the list is what others think.

My reasons for selecting the Kimber as EDC are varied. When I carried a Glock, as I do now, it is becuase it is issued. So - sometimes selection comes down to what is given to you - required - to carry. Any help you gleen from these pages is just that - opinion and suggestion - and bias - take it for what is worth. Shoot everything you might carry - make lists of WHY you are carrying a gun - get the training you need to be EFFECTIVE with whatever weapon system you adopt - if you implement that system you may save your life - and take another - so get the LEGAL training you need too.

My choices are mine and all the others that thoughtfully contribute are theirs - for you, yours in the only that matters. My road is my road, so never forget...

"People take different roads seeking fulfillment and happiness. Just because they're not on your road doesn't mean they've gotten lost."
    -H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Whatever you do, whatever you carry, be safe in all my friend.

I love S&W, Glock, and Kimber. I carry a S&W M&P 40 and love it. As for my Kimber, I won't carry it. I love that gun but mine is just not meant for carry. On the Glock note I would go with the 40 cal compact (23 I believe). 9mm is my mind is pointless for CC.

Yea, I currently carry a S&W M&P40c and i love it also. I want something a little smaller for my everyday. I need something that just tucks away a little better.

As for training, I recieve regular advanced training. Both with my previous and current job. I am also legal to carry in all 50 states for my work. Also I am leaning toward the 9mm as the ammunition is more in line with what the people I work closely with carry. I have my choice of weapons so thats not issue.

Like you said, everyone on here will have differant opinions. I wanted everyones opinions, ups and downs of both guns. I will go to my local range and rent/borrow a few guys and see how I like them. I am curious to shoot the glock though, especially with all the responses of people not liking the grip positions.

I love the Glock but honestly this is like comparing apples to oranges. Two very different platforms.

Agreed, but I am trying to decide which one I want. Not comparing them side by side.

If you want it to go "bang" when you need it to, in any condition, clean or dirty go with the Glock. I have trusted my life with mine and stand behind them.

I shoot way better with my 1911s and consider them one of the best designs ever.
The deal is they must be setup for either carry, looser for reliability in harsher enviroments dirt dust sweat ect. Or target for compitition shooting. Then matching a reliable social ammo to match the carry pistol for absolute reliabilty through many rounds of testing.
This is a bit expensive and may require gunsmithing.

This said I carry a Glock and it has been an ultra reliable inexpensive tool for everyday use.
I would cry if I scraped up my beautiful Colt carrying it around, the Glock no biggy that is it's job.

You may want to try a Ruger LCP. Nice small CCW. 6+1 .380 I have a glock 26 which i love, but the ruger is smaller. My wife likes the Ruger LCP over the sub compact glock. Best way find a winner. Is to shoot them all.
