    Hey Y'all,

I've got a 96 Tacoma, 4 cylinder, 2wd, 5 speed; the other day I drove it to the store, had been starting fine. Came out of the store 45 minutes later and had no power. No lights, no nothing. Wouldn't click when I turned the key. Took the battery to get tested and they told me it was taking a charge. The only sign of life is my door ding when my keys are in, and a clicking sound when I try to turn the headlights are turned on. Battery terminals are clean and pretty, won't jump start. Any help y'all can offer me would be greatly appreciated.

    A thing or two...
Get a new battery. I had the same problem this summer.

The truck was running fine and then I left the battery unhooked for a week while I waited for some parts to finish some work. When I hooked it back up, nothing. The dash would light up, the headlights and interior lights, and keyless entry all worked, but it wouldn't crank and wouldn't jump. I took the battery to Autozone, and they told me that it was good. Dropped in a new battery, and the truck fired right up no problems.

Hey thanks for the help. I've got no dashlights or headlights. Just a clicking sound coming from the battery area under the hood when I try to turn the lights on. Does that change it at all?

Sounds to me like your ground connections are bad.

I have had vehicles parked on a incline not start because things shifted enough

A poor battery would still allow jump starting .

Update, thanks for the help y'all. Got underneath her, pulled all the battery cables, cleaned my ground connections and tightened everything, strung it all back together and she started up perfect. Thanks for the help.
