I am wondering if I should replace my factory exhaust (everything to the rear of the cat) just because I am getting close to 150,000 miles. It seems to be working fine (no leaks) but it is almost 10 years old and has some mileage on it. Good idea to replace or nah?

I don't think you'll notice any difference besides shinier pipes. Unless you've got holes or leaks going on, I think keep it as is would be fine. Then again, if you're looking for aftermarket, well yeah you've seen the threads lol

    Waste of time/money.

I’m considering a exhaust reroute. At this point a whole new cat back system may be worthwhile (or not). It’s still unbudgeted but under consideration.

I'd let an exhaust system rust off behind the cats. The cats themselves, I'd wait until I failed an emissions tests if that applies to your truck.

BTW, I will amend my statement to the extent that I would repair it right away once it does get loud or leak. I just wouldn't call it a preventive item.

If the ugly rust is what concerns you, it's just the nature of exhaust. Chances are, the manifolds, pipes, and system will outlive the truck.
