Looking around for black out emblems for my truck. The ones that cover the silver ones. I looked around and either I'm too dumb to find them reasonably priced or they're sold out.

I've seen some forum members get them off of the Toyota Dealerships. I've been trying to source some for weeks to sell on ChromeStoppers, with very little luck.

The problem with Plastidip is that it doesn't always stay on, especially since he's in Maryland where they tend to have harsh winters. There's probably tons of salt on the road, which could easily peel away his plastidip.

I live in Saskatchewan and have had my emblems dipped for 9 years now. No issues. Also did my TRD skidplate. The only thing that seems to ruin plastidip is WD40 oddly enough.

You'll be fine in southern MD with plastidip. No harsh winters to worry about.

Not if you put a few coats of plastidip ... then all fine for years to come.

Yup. When I did mine 6 years ago I did 5~6 coats. Still going strong albeit in Southern California weather (aka nothing except car washes and fires).

Does Toyota not sell the actual black badges? I’ve looked and all I can find are overlays. I guess I find it odd, do the ones from the factory come solid black or are they all overlays?

I recently went to the Parts Dept of our local Toyota dealer. They sold singular badges, but they're close to $15 a piece.
